Re: lsu staffer expected to be re-hired by Tulane as RB Coach

This wasn't a case where there was any issue with Coach McMenamin. Our staff works 7 day a week and gets about 15-20 days off a year total which is par for the course around college football. Coach decided to retire from coaching to spend more time with his family. I wish him the very best. Carter S...

Re: Here We Go Again...Willie Fritz a Candidate for the Northwestern Job?

I wouldn’t worry too much about this job with Coach Fritz. I genuinely believe he’s at Tulane for the long haul. He’s getting the facilities upgrades that he needs wants, he got a bigger assist pool. Tulane admissions has been a lot better. We’ve got a really supportive President and Board when it c...

Re: Spalitta, baseball recruit headed to Miss. State

It was a financial decision for him. He said so when interviewed by Miss State’s fan site. With 11.7 and a price tag exceeding $80k a year, even with 60% scholarship, sometimes it’s just not affordable for families. Tough break.

FTW Collective: Wine & Dine Event July 31st

I hope everyone had a great 4th of July. I wanted to post to urge you to please consider coming to the Wine & Dine event at Rizzuto's in Lakeview on July 31st at 6:30. It's $250 per head with proceeds going to the FTW Collective. You will get quite a bit for your money, though. Here are some hig...

Re: looks like a new safety transfer from ULL

Kam Pedescleaux was the second highest graded safety in college football by Pro Football Focus. He's small, but he's smart. Other programs that were trying to secure his services were Florida State, Baylor and Houston. His rating by transfer on On3 is 4 star (93 out of 100 rating). We may have lost ...

Re: Jaylen Forbes on NBA workouts, returning to TU

I think we'll see Forbes, Cross and James back. None of them got invited to the NBA combine. Forbes is the one that might have an outside shot, but there would have to be a real chance for him to make a roster for him to leave, and I don't know if he's going to get that. Even though he'll be a bit o...

Re: AAC Transfer Portal Tracker

This was a tampering job, plain and simple. He will end up somewhere really soon, but I bet they wait a few days or even a week to try to act like this wasn’t pre-planned. Until now, we’ve been able to withstand all of the tampering (and believe me, it’s happening daily) but Sam wasn’t here last yea...

Re: RJ McGee enters the transfer portal..,,,

RJ is a great kid. It’s been documented that he’s been through a lot this year. I really wouldn’t be surprised if this has nothing to do with basketball and we see him transfer somewhere a lot closer to home to be near his family.

Re: The Draft

These things happen for a reason and both guys ended up in a better spot for them than the Saints. As much as we all would have liked the Saints to draft Spears, it was never a fit for either side. The local media was pushing hard for it to happen but it would’ve probably been the worst thing for Ty...

Re: Jadon Canady enters the transfer portal

I wish Jadon the best, but he's got a mountain to climb to be ready to play anytime soon: torn ACL, meniscus and cartilage damage. We have 3 really good Senior corners that can shoulder the load this year. This is why getting AJ Hampton was so important to our staff. We knew that even if he was here...

Re: Dominik Ball, RB Palatine, IL

One of the things you can look for with these guys to determine player’s actual speed is look at their track times. Corey Dauphine was someone we can all agree is really fast. This kid’s best 100m time as a Sophomore were just behind what Dauphine ran as a senior (10.84 for Dauphine and 10.96 for Ba...

Dominik Ball, RB Palatine, IL

Commitment #2 for football is Dominik Ball, 5'10 185 RB from Illinois. Has a Kansas State offer along with a host of MAC and FCS offers. Several Big 10 schools have expressed interest but haven't offered at this time. Dominik is a dynamic back with breakaway speed.

Re: Robby Discher to leave for Illinois

I think we can get through spring without a permanent special teams coach. The other slots, TE and DC, have been open long enough that it’s possible Fritz has their replacements lined up and waiting to be announced. I know this is old but I think LG is right about not needing a ST coach to go throu...

Re: Cam Carroll Enters the Portal

Thankful for Cam's contribution to the team over his time here. I think this was a situation where (especially coming off an injury) he was going to have a hard time factoring into our rotation next year with Clayton-Johnson, Celestine, Hughes, Barnes and Cornist. I don't know how Florida sees him f...

Re: Texas A&M WR Yul’keith Brown has committed to Tulane

He was a track star in high school Yep. You have Brown, Keys, Jackson, Bohanon and Speedy Rogers who are all 4.4 or better. Chris Brazzell who is a legit 6'5 and can also run. Receiver is a position that I think we could add another guy just by virtue of looking at the numbers. Hunter Summers will ...

Re: Catholic of BR LB Harold Lawson says he has committed

The quality of the walk ons we've been able to get the past few years is great. Rishi Rattan, Luke Besh, Josh Coltrin, Jonathan Mestayer, Austin Sybrant played in a handful (or more) of games each. That's not easy on a team that's rolling like we were.

Hello everyone. Wes Fritz came on the podcast yesterday and we had a long discussion (close to an hour) about the Class of 2023. If you're interested, you can listen to it by following the link below. Because of NCAA rules, we can't talk to him about who else he's recruiting, etc. so it focuses main...

Re: Will Wallace; Tyrick James.....

Wallace played. He had a few big blocks that sprung some of Tyjae's runs. Tyrick got hurt against UCF and just couldn't go. He tried to rehab and get back but he couldn't. Bauman was in a lot on passing downs because he's a better receiver than Wallace.

Re: Willie Fritz

Intuitively, the Willie Fritz departure seems implausible to me. He's going to be 63 in April. He is making %1.9 mil.+ (yeah, a lot schools are paying more -- to keep Lane Kiffin MS just upped salary to $9 mil.). He isn't starving. He has said repeatedly that he loves Tulane, the players, and NOLA....
