Re: Sion James declares for NBA draft, Holloway to the portal

If this goes to form and James, King and Holloway follow the grads Cross and Forbes in leaving, Hunter loses his entire starting lineup for much of last season. Tulane might lead country in fewest returning player minutes next season. didn't we lead the nation in that stat (returning minutes played...

Re: New AAC Commissioner on Men's Hoops

If they want to act money is the issue, which it isn't, they should just go on the road and save the home guarantees. Of course, last year's schedule was nicely dumbed-down. It's a tired tactic with a 0% success rate and a near 100% "makes things worse" rate. The problem with basketball a...

Re: 24/25 Men’s Basketball recruiting

What does next years roster look like today? From Nola.com “Forward Gregg Glenn, who started once, center Percy Daniels and guard Asher Woods are the only rotation players who have not posted they were leaving. Glenn averaged 3.6 points, Woods averaged 2.4 and Daniels 1.9” Lol I think if I played 4...

New AAC Commissioner on Men's Hoops

This is more broadly conference news (or analysis, really) but I felt like it belonged here at least for now given our current discussions about the state of the MBB roster and coaching. Obviously, if a mod disagrees it can always be moved. https://www.nola.com/sports/tulane/soon-to-be-aac-commissio...

Re: Sion James declares for NBA draft, Holloway to the portal

Worth noting in all of this, and the stench of Hunter's retention that clouds everything, is that declaring for the NBA draft does not mean James is actually gone; as we've seen before with other players, you can go through the process and get the benefit of pro evaluations and tips on where you nee...

Re: Sion James declares for NBA draft, Holloway to the portal

As we all know, players can pull their names out of the draft before a certain date, but the 2024-25 Green Wave MBB just took a massive hit if Sion does go pro. Holloway would have been the best player on the team, the focal point of the offense, and he chose to go elsewhere. Doesn't that tell you ...

The negativism here is absurd. KC was not a one man show. I wish he had stayed. Good folks and the FTW structure remain. Tulane Moneyball just needs to keep trucking. KC was great for Tulane. Good luck to him in Fertitaville. He wasn't but Fritz, whatever you think of him, isn't stupid. There's a r...

Re: I guess we all have a price. Fear The Wave Collective Defection.

Not that it seems to be the issue here, but there are *lots* of New Orleans law firms that have offices in both New Orleans and Houston; if someone is even a junior partner it should not be any huge hurdle to transfer. Again, with the caveat that I know no one and no specifics about this individual ...

It tells you a lot about each of them that Fritz wanted a low buyout and Hunter a high one when they had leverage (Fritz obviously had more, but Hunter did have some when he got extended).

I don't know all the details, but I can't blame someone for taking a good-paying job when the school you've given a ton to over the years isn't willing to give you anything even somewhat approaching your worth. And Hailey Van Lith was not the top player in college hoops. That title goes to the one that sent LSU packing. LSU isn't becoming UConn. Too much drama. If any place could become the next UConn, it would be South Carolina. She was called the top transfer when she went to lsu. She had a pretty good ...

Loyola New Orleans came a lot closer to closing a decade or so ago than most realize or anyone wants to admit. The Prez they hired who has since left for Fordham, put them on a path that saved their a--. That was an extremely close call, and it could happen again if Loyola is not careful. The seem ...

Well I saw an AP News headline that Reese declared for the WNBA draft via a Vogue magazine photo shoot, because she "didn't want to be basic". So that's a perfectly comical ending to her LSU career. I don't know that it's comical so much as smart on her part; she knows that her future ear...

You would be amazed at the kind of things I've seen people text, send on Facebook, and use payment apps to do that ended up biting them hard. If my legal career has taught me nothing else, it is the value of in-person or burner cell conversations and cash transactions. [youtube]http://www.youtube.c...
