more love for Fat Rob.

Growth for Kelley — Rookie running back Rob Kelley continues to get the job done for the Redskins. Running against a tough defensive front, he gained a hard-fought 69 yards on 16 carries. His 22-yard touchdown run was the longest of the day. But what continues to prove impressive about Kelley is his knack for picking up addition yards after contact. On more than one occasion, he seemed to be stopped in the backfield, hit by multiple defenders, but Kelley kept his legs churning and fought forward for two yards rather than taking a loss. Kelley has a way of slipping through cracks and turning one-yard gains into four-yard pickups. In another sign of development, Kelley served as a weapon as a receiver out of the backfield with two catches for 25 yards (14-yard catch-and-run and an 11-yard catch and run). In previous weeks, Kelley had been rather un-clutch as a pass-catcher. But on Sunday, he proved more sure-handed, and then displayed good vision and acceleration after the catch. Kelley also made key blocks in pass protection. That last element goes overlooked often, but it’s extremely important. Kelley displayed a willingness to lay a lick in blitz pickups during the preseason, but had struggled in limited opportunities during the regular season. But not so on Sunday, and as a result, he probably was at his best as an all-around back.

Wow, it's like he's from Tulane and got used to having to do the work himself because he never had any blocking in front of him. Finding his own holes, dodging defenders in the backfield, making something out of nothing... Why, that doesn't sound familiar at all! 8)

Seriously though, congrats to Robert. Keep it up!

He runs really hard. Pretty good in pass protection and holding on to the ball. I'm really happy for him.

Fat Rob, who I drafted with my 16th round pick, dropped, then later resigned, helped me win back-to-back championships (in a league that had never had a defending champ play for a championship before)!

One of my fantasy leagues we can keep a player (for 1 season) that we drafted in the 8th round or later. I drafted Rob in the 16th round for fun. Now I can keep a starting RB as my 16th round pick this year!

WDSU did a report from the camp on tonight's news. Rob has cut off his dreads & looks like a different person.

I saw him at the spring game and promptly called him “not so fat Rob”.

with his catching ability and size, he could make a great FB.. I understand Zach Line is going to be hard to beat out.. but instead of 4 tight ends, the Saints COULD go with 3 TEs and 2 FBs since both Kelley and Line can catch out of the backfield. I understand he's thinking he's going to back up Kamara and Murray.. but hopefully his versatility can be utilized in both spots
