Ouch. A player in Brian's situation needs to be well above the Mendoza line if he's gonna have a shot at the bigs this year. If he doesn't make the bigs and stick, his career is probably about at an end.

We have been saying that for awhile about Bogi. I have to believe he has just about run out of chances. There is always a wunderkind waiting in the wings.

Maybe we could use him in basketball! Does he have a year of eligibility to use? :P

there probably aren't many sports Brian wouldn't excel in, so let's not close that door!

Assuming he accepts the assignment, he will be playing in New Orleans.

He was on the opening day roster but didn't start, FWIW.

Go to the Zephyrs home page

He's hitting .333 in 14 games so for the Zephyrs. Reed Johnson, who beat him out, is 3-14 for the Marlins.

thats what he did last year for the cubs. he smoked it in AAA and so they brought him up and he did pretty well before hurting his hammy. i bet he gets another shot this year.

If he comes up, he will probably spend a lot of time on the bench. The Marlins outfield of Yelich, Ozuna, and Stanton are off to an excellent start.

Stanton rumored to be headed to Beantown for young pitching.

By rumors do you mean a Boston reporter who wrote an article during Spring Training saying the Red Sox should trade for Stanton?

Not happening for young pitchers. Their rotation already consists of young pitchers, some from big trades. Nathan Eovaldi came from the Dodgers in the Hanley Ramirez trade. Jacob Turner came from the Tigers in the trade for Anibal Sanchez and Omar Infante. Henderson Alvarez was one of the pieces in the blockbuster trade with the Blue Jays. Meanwhile, Jose Fernandez and Tom Koehler are home grown.

Rumor was on recent telecast but may have originated with the Spring training speculation.

I listen to South Florida sports talk radio every day on my way home from work (Tune In app saves my 30 minute commute) and unfortunately they talk about the Marlins from time to time. It seems as if they're going to try and keep this group together, especially the longer they stay close to .500.

Bogusevic finally got a start for Philadelphia the other day hit two homers, drove in three and played the whole game. This could be his last chance.

Optioned to minor league camp. Phillies feel comfortable with Grady Sizemore in the outfield (in 2015, not 2006).

Maybe not hiring Sandberg was a win for the Cubbies.

if Brian had not hurt his hamstring, i think he had real chance to stick with the Cubs that one season. its a tough business but at least you make good money

A 'Double Edged Sword' for sure.
