Randy Leblanc

Post by tulaneoutlaw »

After being drafted in round 10 by the Twins, Randy was assigned to the Appalachian League Elizabethton Twins for Rookie ball. I live just a few minutes away and will be trying to get out to see him pitch one of these days.

Randy appeared in his third game tonight. He's only done relief work to this point. So far his line is:

0-1, 6.1 IP, 1.42 ERA, 5 Ks

I'll try and keep tabs on his performance as the year progresses.

Will try to get to a game when they play up here in Kingsport. My daughter and I remember when we had a chance to say hi to Daniel Latham when he was in the Appy league; I got the feeling that he enjoyed having someone with a common experience/ grounding to say hi.

If y'all hear of any other Tulanians in the Appy league, be sure to send the info my way!
What if the Hokey Pokey really is what it's all about?

Absolutely right, AOSig. Life in the minors is rough. A few words of appreciation from a fellow Tulanian will perk him up immensely.
Let's play two.

I got out to the ball park tonight and was fortunate enough to see Randy pitch in relief. He didn't have a great night, 1.1 IP, 5 H, 2 ER, 1K, but I may have jinxed him by showing up. Anyways I did get a chance to talk to him after the game and he seemed to be in good spirits. He was definitely glad to have the support. Really nice guy, I hope he makes the Show someday.

Went out and saw Randy again this evening. He pitched last night on short rest so I actually didn't get to see him throw tonight, but I spoke with him after the game. Really good guy, I wish him all the luck in the world. With probably two appearances left in his season, he has a line of 3.41 ERA, 29 IP, 23 Ks, 4BB.

Randy is on the starting roster of the Class A Cedar Rapids Kernels. They open the season today. Not sure if he'll get some starts or do mostly relief work like last year.

Not on the Twins AA roster (Pensacola Blue Wahoos). I know he was injured last year but had been off to a really good start. 6-1 with a 2.17 ERA. I wonder what happened.

His twitter is now private.

edit: He is now showing as on the 7-day DL with the Blue Wahoos.

I saw him pitch in Chattanooga when the Lookouts were the Twins AA club. Talked to him about Tulane. Nice guy.
