His name fell off the roster several weeks ago. We could do with some depth there and we'll need at least three signees there.

Anyone know the status of Smart's brother, the OL?

He's not on the roster and hasn't been for a few months.

I thought I read that he was enrolled in a JuCo.

looks like both brand new FB and MBB coaches are going to compete in year 1 with scholarships in their pockets... wish that wasn't so.. I think both have the potential to make serious waves (pun intended) in year 1 given their predecessors level of fail with decent levels of talent.. but sure would be nice if the 6 open FB scholarships and 1 open MBB scholarship could be used by a veteran with 1 year to play who can contribute and lead.

This is not actually the double post.

as lg said THIS is not the double post... that post, in the incorrect forum I might add, was made nearly a day after this one... that post should be in the 'former players' forum, if anywhere... if you want to start splitting hairs

not really since it goes into some detail regarding a recruiting commit that decided to go elsewhere. Thus its a "hybrid" Topic that can fit, quite nicely, in two different Forums. :-)

For those who like to keep track of these things, he's now enrolled at Louisiana Tech, however he managed to pull that off.

And with that banish this thread to former players.

To clarify I had him confused with the other RB who managed to get release from his letter of intent and go to a JUCO. I thought Nigel had pulled off 3 schools in a month or something. Did not mean to imply anything else.

I wish the best of luck to almost everyone who leaves the Wave for good reason, and that loaded RB depth chart was sort of one. Best of luck to him in the future.

La Tech runs the quarter system. While otherwise antiquated it is amenable to transfers and helpful to students who might struggle in school. It is also the only rural FBS option in LA, which is a lure to some who want to get out of the city.
