Well, looks like same ol Tanner Lee: staring down receivers, throwing INT's. I was really hoping he'd do well because 1) I wish him well but 2) it'd be one huge, public nail in CCJ's coffin. TL never had the line for protection nor the coaching to be fairly judged at Tulane. Now he does. And he isn't passing the test.

There is a distinct chance he will be the starting QB for two coaches that get fired

the absolutely mind blowing thing is after the AD went in front of the press and pretty much lit a bonfire under Riley's seat, Riley has maintained Lee as his starting QB (according to this week's current depth chart)... this means that there is absolute trash on the roster behind him because how could anyone do any worse than 7 INTs in the past two games against a team that doesn't have a defense and a non P5 team?

College football's biggest winners and losers:
We knew 2017 was a rebuilding year for Nebraska, but that shouldn’t mean edging Arkansas State or losing at home to Northern Illinois during the third year of the Mike Riley era. Losing on the road at Oregon wasn’t a major problem, though a 28-point halftime deficit certainly wasn’t an encouraging sign. For whatever reason, a Tanner Lee hype train picked up steam only to inevitably crash. In the last two games, the Tulane transfer has tossed seven interceptions and completed just 50 percent of his passes. It’s not like Lee is the only problem, since the defense ranks 90th in the country with 5.80 yards per play allowed. Riley’s hot seat is warming quickly.

After his second pick-6 this past Saturday I texted someone "I guess coaching and OL weren't his only issues". Riley might be an equally bad coach but his OL has to be better than what he had here and certainly better that Northern Illinois' DL.

Odd, because the refrain out of camp is always the same rave reviews-- here and in Nebraska.

"He will play on Sunday some day."
"He has all the tools."

And yeah, I've seen him make some amazing throws, both in game and in-practice. Its just so interesting how the hype-train was almost identical both here and there-- along with the results.

Maybe its a psychological thing? Phenomenal in drills, but when the game is live at full speed, its not the same?

in their defense, that quote doesn't get specific on what he'll play on Sundays.. they could be talking about the pipe organ at his local church

Rutgers is one of the ten worst teams in the country.. and for that very reason, Nebraska came back to win.. but Lee was handing the ball off the entire fourth quarter
