Who could ever forget Off-De-Mark-us Russell?

Since we're talking trivia, no QB from USC has ever won the Super Bowl.

I was discussing this with a fellow alum yesterday and he created a spreadsheet with every QB draft pick since the 2000 draft. The only current P5 schools with no QBs drafted since 2000 are:

South Carolina
Wake Forest
Minnesota
Maryland
Kansas
Colorado

Long story short, Nebraska was in pretty rare company.

Tangentially related, most QBs drafted goes to USC with 8 followed by LSU with 7 and then surprisingly, Louisville with 6.

Whole lot of scouts on here running their mouths but no one willing to put $ on the line. Weird.

OK, ml wave, the bet is that TL will not play in a regular season NFL game, for any NFL team, the only caveat being that the top 4 QBs on that team get hurt and he is the only option available to said team. Five year window.

If I lose, then it is an automatic double-down that he will throw more than one interception in said game.

Drafted, roster, or practice squad. The context at the time was how dumb he was for declaring for the draft, so that seemed fair, but whatever. Looks like you felt that he wouldn't get paid in the regular season, still feel that way?

I have to agree with ml here that there original idea was that he was crazy to declare. While I think he declared because he heard he was unlikely to be locked in as the starter next year (or even likely to not start), it does seem to have worked out for him. Practice squad at minimum seems likely at this point.

Lee tearing it up for the Jags in season 2... last night was 0 for 3... well, 1 for 3 if you count the pick 6 he threw... 1 INT, 3 sacks. Probably still upset about his reference in "Why Your Team Sucks: Jacksonville" when he was referred to as sounding like a throw in player in an NBA trade deadline deal.

bonus.. Lee started the 2nd half.. his first drive went sack, sack, pick 6
his next drive... run, run, run.. they wouldn't bother letting him throw again until drive 3, where he threw 2 incompletions and got sacked again

The scout that thought Lee showed enough at Tulane and Nebraska to get a shot in the NFL should be fired. The coach who thought he showed enough last preseason to get another chance should be banned from football.

There comes a time when one’s potential drives into the bridge abutment of one’s actual performance.

I have no idea if that's an original of yours or if you borrowed it.. but it's brilliant! I'd change "drives" to "crashes" for effect, though

the absolutely terrifying part in all this is the Jags don't have QBs in camp that they could say "alright, we're done with this guy"

Their top potential back up to Foles is Gardner Minshew... the other QB in camp is some guy named McGough. You'd think there'd be a McCown brother or another guy who's actually taken an NFL snap to be there when Foles eventually gets torn to shreds. Hell, pulling EJ Manuel or Tyrod Taylor out of retirement would be a better option than Gardner fking Minshew or Tanner Lee... or hell, get Mark Sanchez!! Or how about send Tampa a conditional 7th round pick for Ryan Griffin?

I made it up on the spot, thank you. 8)

Some guy named McGough? That was FIU's starting qb when they embarrassed us in 2017.

Minshew is a rookie and could still be fine. They could do way worse than Tyrod Taylor, but maybe he and Manuel don't fit as back ups to Foles. Just spitballing because you're right the current backups aren't great.

but is it more or less weird than the hate for the kid that chose Auburn instead of Tulane?

Very good question...I'm going to go with more, but I could be convinced either way.

didn't realize the Jags released Lee a week ago.. his reign of terror in the NFL is over... meanwhile, Ryan Griffin is outplaying every other QB in Tampa
