No idea if this is legit but unfortunately it wasn't dated this past Monday.

He'll probably get a waiver too

If true that is tough. Losing the two best players off of a terrible team is not good.

Coach Hunter has his work cut out for him.

Solid talent but if he doesn’t want to be here, then it’s for the best. We need a culture change and that means personnel changes too. Can’t think of another program where he will have freedom to be ‘the guy’, but good luck.

That’s surprising and disappointing. Wasn’t he one of the players who seemed excited about Coach Hunter?

He was excited. Huge loss and the only kid from New Orleans on the team. If he doesn’t want to be at Tulane, then let him go.

It is going to take awhile. Patience will be required in heavy dosages.

This reeks of tampering but it is what it is.

If he ends up at LSU playing for reinstated and completely exonerated Will Wade...

Disappointing news but again Tulane's record for the last year and a half has been abominable. I wish Daniels well and thank him for his time at Tulane, if he does leave. His family is very nice. Meanwhile I will root for those who want to play for Hunter and Tulane.

What else is he going to say when he's on the record?

According to Guerry Smith, his HS coach says its still very much up in the air if he is actually leaving, but that he HAS entered the portal

Daniels twitter account says he has entered portal but may return to Tulane; Connor Crabtree tweeted the same thing about his own future just now. Daniels' high school coach -- as mentioned above -- says Daniels has not ruled out a return to Tulane. Crabtree says he wants to explore options but he is also still considering remaining at Tulane.

Has to be some tampering. Someone got into his ear and probably already figured out how he will be eligible immediately. College basketball is the dirtiest sport by far.

Probably waiting to see if NCAA will give a waiver for immediate eligibility.

whenever you have a coaching change you'll have some casualties. Especially when you sell the departing coach so hard and his many NBA connections that will help you go Pro one day. If you ever attended a home game the pre-game was all about Dunleavy's time as an NBA player, his time as an NBA Coach and the various "name" players he drafted and developed in the NBA.

Fair enough but Tulane can offer playing time. Going to ride the bench somewhere else doesnt seem to make a lot of sense.

It's not tampering if they "enter the portal".

Why? This is typical when a coach gets fired.

Probably "entered the portal" with scholarship offer to SEC school of choice with immediate eligibility. Watch how this plays out over the next six months.

Not typical for best player on team, guy who gets the most minutes and shots, playing in his hometown, who should have to sit out a year if he transfers (but probably won't).

Every time I hear someone has entered the portal, it sounds like a bad sci-fi movie.

Why do we always think our best players won't be able to get playing time elsewhere? Guarantee you Daniels doesn't think he'll be on someone's bench.

Crabtree is reportedly just “testing the waters” and mentions “returning to Tulane” as an option. It’s being reported that this is the case with Daniels as well.

On edit: I just saw someone pointed this out above.
