Daniels has put his name in the NBA draft pool...much as Ray Ona Embo did a year ago.

IF (big IF) the tweet is accurate, he's hired an agent, though, which puts it into a different category.

Another new rule this year, can hire an agent in an advisory capacity to go through the draft stuff without risking eligibility

And to this day, the only game in NCAA tourney history where a team shot better than Villanova did in that championship game ... was Oklahoma State in 1992, against Tulane...

Had the exact same thought. 8)

Just looked up the box score. 80%!? That's unreal!

Better percentage from 3 than from 2 and better from 2 than FT!

I was in the Omni - We had no answer and were never really competitive.

Yeah, had I been here earlier I would have mentioned that while Bryant "Big Country" Reeves was on that team, he was a freshman who was not a big threat (barely cracked a mention in our scouting report). The big worry was First Team All-American (and some folks co-player of the year along with Christian Laettner), Byron Houston. Houston was a classic "tweener", a dominating power forward in college who seemed destined to never be a great pro (and indeed, he was not). They also had a hot shooting game from Coach Eddie Sutton's son Sean (perfect from the floor, but not the FT line, even though he was known as a great foul shooter), and a somewhat-little-known 2-guard named Corey Williams, who then went and got drafted by the Bulls and got a ring as the backup to some guy named Jordan. Google just taught me that he later was an assistant coach at Florida State, and was recently fired (after this past season) from the head coaching job at Stetson... and bringing this all full circle, Stetson hosted the NCAAs the next year in Orlando where we lost to... Florida State.

As speculated earlier, he’s going to Villanova. Will be very curious to see how much PT he gets there.

Who cares how he fits in there? Best of luck to him. Move this thread to the former players forum. I hope we meet them in the Elite 8 in two years.

Given his college basketball conversations on this board, I figured AWD may know just about any great program. Same for Doc. Just curious. I bet a lot of people that post on this board about hoops will follow his career at Nova. I know I will and I hope he does well.

I think it will be interesting. Jay Wright loves multi-year character guys who buy into his scheme. On the other hand their success has enabled Nova to attract elite, “one and done” type guys. Daniels could be a key guy who becomes a consistent contributor or he could be buried behind each year’s hot new recruits. A lot may ride on his ability to shoot the three.

For what it’s worth the Villanova guys I know think Caleb’s a good get for them for depth but there won’t be a parade welcoming Caleb down Lancaster Avenue. Everyone recognizes it’s a Dunleavy thing.
