Passed away August 15. He was a Tulane Hall of Famer for his football play as was his younger brother Mike. His nephew, Hank Tatje, was also a Tulane football letterman. RIP.

I can remember as a young lad of 11 watching him in 1956 play for Tulane. He was a great offensive lineman, blocking for Ronnie Quinlan (sp). He was co-captain for that team that went 6-4 against a very tough schedule with 1 point loses to Texas and lsu. Both by the same score 7-6. I remember the lsu game with Ronnie Quinlan, out of Jesuit, running for over 100 yards. Dalton played for my alma mater Holy Cross and is in their Hall of Fame. You have to remember in 1956 the university had an austerity program on for athletics. Great coaching job by Andy Pilney. QB Gene Newton ran something like 82 yards in the mud in Jackson, Ms. to beat Ole Miss. Those were some good seasons before the athletic cutbacks killed us. Dalton and that offensive line was fun to watch. May he rest in peace.
