Not a great year for NFL wave

Post by TU23 »

Dontrelle Hilliard looks like a lock to make the Browns....Ryan Griffin is a lock to make the Bucs bc of Blaine Gabbart's injury...everyone else is in trouble (even though Leglue and Teamer have impressed)....

Looks like Parry Nickerson and Tanzel Smart are going to get cut. Both appear to be on the wrong side of the bubble and for Parry, the Jets just traded for a corner from Indy with starting experience. He's also struggled with the new staff. Tanzel just can't seem to make enough plays to be visible out there. Both have practice squad eligibility and both could catch on elsewhere, so it might not all be lost.

Aruna going to get cut as well. May end up with Vikings practice squad.

Ryan Grant may end up being the victim of Jon Gruden's infatuation with Keylon Doss and Hunter Renfrow. The local papers in Oakland have Grant as a cut.

Rod Teamer has certainly played the best of the bunch but the Chargers are deep and Derwin James needs to be on the roster for one day to go on IR designated to return. San Diego may waive Teamer and bring him back if he clears waivers. He may have played well enough to get picked up by another team if he's waived. Will be interesting to see. He belongs in the NFL.

John Leglue is a lock to be on the Broncos practice squad if he doesn't make the team outright. They love his ability to play anywhere on the line. He's really made an impression.

Lorenzo Doss not given much chance by Carolina media to make the team.

Cairo Santos is in a battle at kicker. His lack of consistency on long kicks might cost him although Arians has made comments about keeping both kickers (that would be crazy). I think he is behind Gay, the young kicker.
This one belongs to the Wave.

God help me, but he’s the only Tulane alum I’m rooting against. I want the Saints to snatch him off waivers.
The gap between the top of the big leagues and their bottom is now bigger than the gap between their bottom and us - P.R. told me to do this

How about the Saints trade one of their umpteen surplus wideouts for him? Everyone wins that way.

He'd be the Jags' 4th TE and they may have to resort to trying to sneak him to the practice squad. Taysom Hill and Austin Carr are two reminders that the Saints are adept at snatching talent teams were trying to sneak there... the 7th rounder the Saints got from Notre Dame will probably be the only TE to make the Saints practice squad though

Looks like the Saints picked up Leglue, to practice squad presumably.

correct... Broncos are probably a little stunned.. I had a little inside knowledge in regards to what the Broncos coaching staff told John when he was cut.. it was along the lines of "you're coming back".. Saints swooped in most likely on the recommendation of CJ, whom he was recruited by!

Charles Jones signed to Jags PS. It's the least the Saints coulda done to scoop him after the Jags scooped Ozigbo from them. :(

I look forward to seeing Brees smoke Parry Nickerson (and the rest of the Seahawks defense) in person in Seattle on 9/22. Other than that game, I'll be pulling for Nickerson to have a great season.

Grant suddenly in line for more reps.

Kind of sketchy to put Leglue and Jones on here since they cannot play.

True but these graphics are marketing moves by Tulane meant to be seen by potential recruits, so you "embellish" any way you can.

Donnie Lewis got signed by Browns practice squad yesterday. Graphic must have been made already.

Good to see Cairo make one from 53. Some had questioned his leg.

With Gabbert hurt, Griffin is the backup QB, and with Jameis spraying the ball as usual, would not rule out seeing him eventually!

Foles out leaving Minshew as the only QB on the roster...wonder if they bring Tanner back?

Mr. Magoo (Mcgough) has a better chance since he lasted longer in camp and is probably on their practice squad
