In South Panola's 24-23 win at defending 6-A State Champion Clinton.

244 yards passing with 3 TDs and another 136 yards rushing and 1 TD.

There's a ton on it all over twitter, but story, news highlights and some of the tweets are below:

My stepdaughter's high school had their first game last night. They'll play two games before school even starts.

last night, I saw the HS next to my neighborhood getting the field ready for a game.. I assumed it was their second scrimmage with the season kicking off next week.. school doesn't start in the county until 8/28... anyway, trying to get my daughter to sleep, I hear the PA system loud and clear with my windows closed... I'm thinking, "why are they cranking it so loud for a scrimmage?" My house sits 3/4 of a mile from the field, and with the windows closed I could hear the announcer clearly, as well as the music they were blaring.. .I rattled off an email to the AD asking him why it was louder this year than last year... but as I was searching for his email address, I discovered last night was the regular season opener. This is the earliest I can remember HS football ever starting in either GA or NC.

BTW, Georgia had the "Corky Kell Classic" last night in Georgia State's new stadium AKA the Field formerly known as Turner.

so that would be the game that the PA was cranked so high... Marvin Ridge beat em going away, apparently

Marvin Ridge has a tenth grade kicker that the scouts are already drooling over

I knew they were playing Marvin Ridge but didn't know the outcome. Since the band wasn't going my stepdaughter gave zero effs about the game

through seven games Shegog is completing 61% of his passes, which is a very nice jump from the 46% he was doing last year. He's also run for over 500 yards while averaging over 5 yards per carry, both improvements over last year.
