The above link is to a tweet by F. Mango (that may be what I call him from now on) which was re-tweeted by Coach Fritz.

Mango plays for a small school in Ferriday and does everything for them. He could play anywhere in college but does not have many if any other 1-a offers at this time. We’ve been on him for months.

To quote an old Cheech & Chong routine, Mango does everything but sell popcorn at halftime.

No SNL Mango jokes but he definitely joins the AAC All Name team if he does hit the field. Welcome!

In an age where 8 year olds "specialize," it's fun to see someone play everything.

If he was Mongo, I would love to have him on the defensive line...

My boss played in the NFL as an O Guard under Ditka back in the early 80s. His nickname at our office is Mongo.

Wait, so the important question here:

Was Ditka a terrible head coach back then too who just had so much talent (and Buddy Ryan) that it didn't matter? Or was he just not trying in New Orleans?

Any heretical implication that Ditka is not from Olympus will be met with scorn and derision and possibly a stoning.

he prefers beating people with socks full of quarters.

But then acting on ESPN as though any sort of hazing is completely inappropriate.

Then there is Doug Peterson, journeyman NFL QB and sometimes clipboard holder, to Super Bowl winning coach. I think it’s almost an inverse relationship.

Beating someone with quarters is not hazing them, it's motivating them. Same thing with wrenches

He sucked at both. It's why he never coached again.

I didn't realize this was still a question? Guy couldn't coach his way out of a paper bag.

Coaching may have been worse. It's why he never coached after Chicago until the Saints gave him a job for some reason.

Ditka took over the perennial powerhouse New Orleans Saints franchise that was 3-13 the year before.
