13.6% five stars, 29.5% four stars, 31.8% three stars, 25% two stars or lower.

I don't know what the exact figures are, but I know a lot fewer than 13.6% of recruits are five stars. If we're going by all the recruits who actually had a rating, about 3500-4000 recruits are rated by a service in a class.

There are usually between 25-35 five star recruits. So that's about 1% at most.

Four stars are harder to calculate, let's say 300 four stars, which is probably a bit low, considering there are a lot of four stars that aren't in the top 250 or 300 or whatever. Even liberally, 10% or less are four stars.

The three and four stars are generally close to even, so I'll lump them together. So a little less than 90% of recruits are rated below four stars.

This analysis has a lot of sample size issues, but the percentages are reflected in the overall totals in the NFL and for recent draft classes.

It's really not anything we didn't already know, but there's a much higher hit rate on four and five stars than there is on everyone else.
