Really surprised that didn't happen before this past year. ECU isn't exactly a threat to go dancing or whatever.

Re: Basketball Recruiting Info
6-3 G Jordyn Adams, Austin Peay, is transferring; slowed by a hip injury for about 10 games this season but scored 17 pts per game as a frosh and is a super defender; was Ohio Valley Conf. freshman of year in 2019-20 and first team all-conf. to boot. played HS ball in Texas on a top team out of Silsbee, TX. averaged 9 pts a game as a soph at Austin Peay. Peay's coach is taking a new job after four years there. Tulane interested in Adams, who expects to make a decision soon.
Re: Basketball Recruiting Info
I've actually seen him play. This would be a great get regardless of whether it is a position of need. He would be too good to pass up.randymc wrote: ↑Tue Mar 30, 2021 4:07 am 6-3 G Jordyn Adams, Austin Peay, is transferring; slowed by a hip injury for about 10 games this season but scored 17 pts per game as a frosh and is a super defender; was Ohio Valley Conf. freshman of year in 2019-20 and first team all-conf. to boot. played HS ball in Texas on a top team out of Silsbee, TX. averaged 9 pts a game as a soph at Austin Peay. Memphis NIT champs and Houston in the Final Four. We need to keep bringing in good players to compete in the best conference in college basketball.
Re: Basketball Recruiting Info
Omar Payne is a 6-10 230# former4* SOPH PF transferring from the Florida Gators . Tulane recruited him out of high school. He played about 15mpg each of his season at Florida.
Re: Basketball Recruiting Info
Tobias Howard JR is a 6-2 195# RS SR PG transferring from Indiana State. Both Tulane and Georgia State recruited him out of high school but did not offer him.
Re: Basketball Recruiting Info
Jordyn Adams originally committed to Baylor out of high school. In a game as a freshman, he scored 25pts against Vanderbilt taking only 8 shots from the field. Jordyn Adams is from Silsbee, Texas, which is north of Beaumont near the Louisiana border.

Why are we trying to compete with the PAC?NJwave wrote: ↑Tue Mar 30, 2021 9:59 amI've actually seen him play. This would be a great get regardless of whether it is a position of need. SMU SG William Douglas is transferring.
Re: Basketball Recruiting Info
Trey Wade is a 6-6 220# RS SR SF transferring from Wichita State. Georgia State offered him out of junior college. He is originally from Marietta, Georgia.
Re: Basketball Recruiting Info
As I have already posted, the number of transfers is overwhelming. Even schools like Kentucky are highly involved with transfers. In the Baylor vs Arkansas Elite 8 game, 6 of the top 7 scorers were transfers. With so many transfers,I would expect the NCAA to again consider granting blanket waivers next season.

I read where that was expected to happen again. We may have seen the end of the one year sit-outdoc wrote: ↑Tue Mar 30, 2021 12:27 pm As I have already posted, the number of transfers is overwhelming. There could be more than 1500 D-1 transfers this year. That would be a staggering number.

Re: Basketball Recruiting Info
That's a 33% clip or over 4 players from every D1 team. Since every one of the 347 D1 teams is not losing 4 players it means many many teams are losing a boatload more.

Re: Basketball Recruiting Info
So I think it's safe to say the transfer market is here to stay. I'm curious how much of this is driven by covid since kids couldn't visit campuses basically all of the last year. We saw some interesting effects on football recruiting nationally. Any thoughts on if this will be a sustained level of transfers or if there's some chance it will be less pronounced in future years?
Re: Basketball Recruiting Info
44 transfers so far today and counting......

Re: Basketball Recruiting Info
Starting with teams like Cincinnati, where basically the whole team bailed and the coaches (if they keep their jobs) are just waiting to see who all ends up in the portal so they can reassemble an entirely new team.
Re: Basketball Recruiting Info

The exodus from USF continues. 7-0 250# RS JR Michael Durr is transferring. He averaged 9ppg and 8 rpg, despite often being in foul trouble. He is originally from Atlanta, Georgia. I expect HC Gregory to be fired soon. I would like to see Tulane involved with Durr.
