2023 Football Recruiting Thread
I think Pete called for this earlier, now we have a commitment to name for this next class. He's Dakota Williams, a WR from Hahnville up the river. The staff spread out a few offers for river parish kids who came in this past weekend. The link below is from Williams' sophomore season. He hurt his knee last year.

Re: 2023 Football Recruiting Thread
I didn’t want to start a new thread for this “old guy on his rocker” comment, but I have noticed a new trend in recruits’ tweets.
We used to gripe about the incorrect usage of the word “university” as in The University of Tulane. The 2023 recruits have one-upped that and now write, “… a(n) offer….”. Has core curriculum eliminated the teaching of when to use “a” vs “an”?

The general concept of grammar is dying, as evidenced by, well, any given 5 minutes you spend on social media. It's not just the kids, it's their parents. This forum is probably in the top 1% of the internet in terms of proper grammar and spelling.

Last night I went to dinner with my wife and kids and the waiter laughed at something that happened and actually said “LOL”. I turned to my wife after and said “he could just do it, the explanation was not necessary”.

Re: 2023 Football Recruiting Thread
To get this back in topic, the University of Tulane had three Destrehan players from the class of '23 on campus just before the second signing date and all three were offered. They are ATH Jai Eugene Jr (he'll get tons of big offers), WR Daniel Blood, and DB Kevin Adams. The latter two have multiple offers but perhaps not as showy as their teammate's.

We offered a RB from Alabama (the state) but I am having trouble finding it again to get his name.

Thanks for these names, LG. We'd all like to see more LA guys signing on. Will keep watch on them.

Yes, thank you. 247 adds slowly to its database of 2023 prospects so I couldn’t find him after seeing him tweet his offer several days ago.gerryb323 wrote: ↑Thu Feb 10, 2022 10:07 pmThat's Dante Dowdelllong green wrote: ↑Thu Feb 10, 2022 9:10 pmI saw an offer from a RB from Mississippi but I couldn’t run down the name.

Spain Park HS is in the city of Hoover.
(as a recent grad I helped my boss design it and at the time it was called "Hoover II")

OL DJ Geth Roebuck, SC
OL Malachi Breland Laurel, MS
LB James Walley Jr Missouri City, TX (Paetow HS, I think)

It is either Elkins or Hightower, unless he goes to private school.

I wrote Missouri City because that’s what it says on his Twitter page. I got my wires crossed about his high school because I saw some mention of Paetow HS on his timeline. In fact 247 says he goes to Ridge Point HS, wherever that actually is. Thanks for keeping me on my toes.

Re: 2023 Football Recruiting Thread
LG, Ridge Point is located in a small tax jurisdiction called Sienna. But the address is Missouri City and that is located about 35 miles southwest of Houston.
Re: 2023 Football Recruiting Thread
I believe Paetow is where recent commitment Kentrell Webb attends. We just offered a teammate of his in LB Daymion Sanford.long green wrote: ↑Tue Feb 22, 2022 10:12 am I wrote Missouri City because that’s what it says on his Twitter page. Re: 2023 Football Recruiting Thread
I think we’ve now had a full and complete autopsy of my screwup.
We also offered Wylie TX athlete Terrell Washington Jr, who looks like a running back or a slot receiver. Also, Homer, LA LB/S is coming in for a visit next month, just after the start of spring practice.

A pile of new offers including several QB’s. The QB’s if I have them all are Eli Wisdom of Springdale,AR, Marcus Stokes of St Augustine, FL, Dylan Rizk of Delray Beach, FL, and Jackson Gilkey of Ennis, TX. The others are RB Khalifa Keith of Birmingham, WR Louis Williams III of Conroe,TX, and lineman TJ McMillen of Napierville, IL.

Re: 2023 Football Recruiting Thread
Why that would be implying that I’d made another screwup, this time where Brendon Harris of Homer, LA is concerned. Which could never happen.

LG, thanks for the updates!
Not a many LA offers. You think they may want to keep those offers silent?
