66 net yards of total offense with 11 minutes to play
I would say that's a sign of a team with no heart and no desire to play.

It's unbearable.
It's also obvious.
Do the right thing, Bob. Do the right thing.

Direct reflection of the coach? I still can't believe the last 2 games after the UTEP victory, seems there would be some fire in the team. I guess Rice extinguished it for good.Johnny Mac wrote:I would say that's a sign of a team with no heart and no desire to play.

Very very poor.
As a side note, TPS, when I mentioned on here a while back that the easiest way to win in CUSA is to build a great defense, this is what I meant.
That's what we watched UCF do today, play defense. It also helped them beat Houston.

Our Defense isn't that bad.
Special teams and offense, however, are a different story.
Re: 66 net yards of total offense with 11 minutes to play
And we finished with 52 yards for the game.

nobody's players are this bad. Ours, too.GSx wrote:And we finished with 52 yards for the game.
I can't see how we can move forward with this staff.
If we are going to try to move forward with this staff, it will take a gargantuan PR effort from the Ath Dept to put it over on the fans. About 100 times more push than we fans get now.

I hear ya. But we make all defenses look good. Meanwhile Harvard is 7-3 on the year.Big EZ Wave wrote:Very very poor.

And if the athletic department will make any sort of "gargantuan PR effort" it could be directed to a lot, lot more productive directions than apologizing for this.long green wrote:GSx wrote: If we are going to try to move forward with this staff, it will take a gargantuan PR effort from the Ath Dept to put it over on the fans. I don't want to hear apologies. I want to hear Rick Dickson say that this performance is totally unacceptable and that all necessary changes will be considered and that quite a few changes will be made regardless. I'd like to hear that soon.
Since I assume we will have the same head coach I say this...Bowl game in 2010 or new coach in 2011. If that's negative then shoot me.

So would I.long green wrote:I don't want to hear apologies. I want to hear Rick Dickson say that this performance is totally unacceptable and that all necessary changes will be considered and that quite a few changes will be made regardless. I'd like to hear that soon.
It would be a nice nexus to use some 1/2with Rutgers/Bama/LSU/ESPN money toward fixing football.
I couldn't bear to listen to the postgame show. Did Toledo have anything pithy to say?

Re: 66 net yards of total offense with 11 minutes to play
I just don't see how a fourth year of Bob Toledo can be sold to the fans. I go to the games, I know what a lot of the remaining fans think. I don't know too many of those people, the few butts in the seats left, who have ANY confidence in Bob Toledo.
We are worse off now than after Chris' s 3rd down punt. Really. Worse off. At least we had Frank Scelfo and Eric Schumann for coordinators.

But 4-6 Yale has one more win than we do, and they took 7-3 Harvard to the wire today, instead of losing by 30+ points, like every one of our losses.Big EZ Wave wrote:Yea, but Yale is 4-6TPSTulane wrote:Meanwhile Harvard is 7-3 on the year.

Toledo actually has a plan to turn the program over to his offensive coordinator, Dan Dodd after he retires. He is grooming him to be his replacement. You just can't make this stuff up.

Re: 66 net yards of total offense with 11 minutes to play
Too much is made of this. No doubt Bob wanted to do that when he got here. If we were winning and had been winning the past two years, most people on here would think it was a good idea. He can't now, of couse. I can't see how Dodd can be saved.Wave Revival wrote:Toledo actually has a plan to turn the program over to his offensive coordinator, Dan Dodd after he retires. Re: 66 net yards of total offense with 11 minutes to play
When the change is made, the only coach who stays on campus is Greg Davis Jr. Dan Dodd's next HC job will be for a high school. He will never be the head football coach at Tulane University if they want anyone to attend the games.Wave Revival wrote:Toledo actually has a plan to turn the program over to his offensive coordinator, Dan Dodd after he retires. This is the first time in Tulane history that we have failed to score a point in a CUSA football game.

Tulane's 50 yards total offense was the lowest ever in a CUSA conference game.
