I'll stay with 8-4
Wins:
Grambling
@Navy
Army
@FIU
Cincinnati
@East Carolina
Losses:
@Oklahoma
South Florida*
@Memphis
I think we win 2 (or all) of these:
Houston
@SMU
Tulsa
*If Irma causes a Katrina like effect on USF, that may turn into a win. Was hoping Houston would be "on the road" all year too.

We will beat Houston because of D'Onofrio and Harvey (as horrible as that sounds). USF has more talent than we do, but we have a much, much, much better coach. Navy is a tossup. I think we can win 7-8, but Saturday will tell me a lot.
Re: We have now seen the team...Season Predictions?
You have made me believe that we should win that one. I just picked it as a "one that got away." I hope your right.FW wrote:We will beat Houston because of D'Onofrio and Harvey (as horrible as that sounds). USF has more talent than we do, but we have a much, much, much better coach. I think we have a 6 win season, maybe pull a 7th win out. And go to a small Bowl.

5 wins, 6 if we beat Navy tomorrow. Team discipline seems good, but o line still not where it needs to be, and special teams are still not a plus. That's just not enough to get to 7 or 8 wins.

Four wins: Grambling, Army, FIU, and then one of either SMU, Tulsa, or Memphis.
One more year to make it over the hump.

Since Southern was added I'll go 9 wins, unless Southern is replacing another win, then, just 8 still.DrHullabaloo wrote:Four wins: Southern, Army, FIU, and then one of either SMU, Tulsa, or Memphis.

Army trailed Buffalo 17-7 at the half. They look slow.

Re: We have now seen the team...Season Predictions?
....and ECU is terrible.
Re: We have now seen the team...Season Predictions?
So now ESPN's FPI has us favored against Tulsa , FIU, Cincy, and ECU. That would give us six. FW guarantee's Houston, that's seven. Now to just to pluck one away from USF, SMU, or Memphis. That would put us at 8-4 likely to the Birmingham bowl against an 6-6 or 7-5 SEC team. Any thoughts what SEC team might end up 6-6 this year. Possibly one we haven't beaten since November 1982.

If we're allowed to revisit our predictions I'm now at 5 (I thought we would beat Navy) with maybe a possible 6th if we get some breaks.

My range now would be between 5 and 8. I'd predict 7.
Assuming Banks stays healthy. I think we'd only win 1-2 more without him
Oklahoma game bolstered my confidence. Army game dampened it.

I am still at 7-5. I had us beating Navy and losing to Tulsa, so to stay on track we must beat the ill-named Golden Hurricanes from the plains.

But seriously, I am just so psyched to see a Tulane team mentally and physically prepared to play and fight and WIN every week. It's been a while.
I won't sell the team short. Anything can happen from here on out.

Re: We have now seen the team...Season Predictions?
Not likely. It would have be against somebody that's at least bowl eligible like Vandy or Kentucky, etc.Poseidon wrote:So now ESPN's FPI has us favored against Tulsa , FIU, Cincy, and ECU. Kind of the same here. I had us beating Navy and had Tulsa in the group of three* that I felt we could win at least 2. I'm not as uncertain with Memphis as I was before, but I still feel they, along with USF will still "out athlete" us in a couple spots.MNAlum wrote:I am still at 7-5. *Houston and SMU were the other two and neither one really frighten me as much as before. I think it's due to seeing that we finally might have a QB now.
