Here's what I've gathered from Twitter about game 1.
White team beat the Green team 5-3.
Trent Johnson was the starting pitcher for the white team while Ross Massey started for the green team.
Will Mcaffer closed things out for the white team and he pitched well as did Johnson.
Issa was the only reliever used for the green team and he pitched the final 2 innings.

From the team's official Twitter account
Quote:
Final | Will McAffer tosses a scoreless bottom of the seventh for the White team to win the first game of the Angry Wave World Series by the score of 5-3! Catch game 2 tomorrow morning at 10:00 AM here at GFATS.

White - 5
Green - 3
#RollWave

Also of note Sal Gozzo led off the game with a 2B.

Thanks for the update. I guess ideally the best case is for the games to be fairly even. We don't want pitching dominating our hitters and vice versa.

The question everyone wants to know, how is Ross doing?

From what I've heard not as good as he was as a freshman but much better than last year. Though some people on this board have said he's back to freshman form. Based on what I've heard that's not the case but atleast he looks to be serviceable right now.

Pete, from what I can gather a lot better than last year but not back to the form of his freshman year. Ross is very resilient and I think he will make it back. Just a great kid and family. He has a lot of support from family to players to ex-players to fans.

I got a text that Artigues hit a HR in the game currently going on. What he did last year was something else never catching a game in his life. A 4.0 student and just a great kid and family. I really hope he can win a starting job.

Th game was 2-1 after 3. Ben White and Roper pitching. I hear Roper is someone the players are high on.

That's good. We will need Johnson and Roper to be really good.

Artigues is 3-3. Hoese and Jensen have hit the ball well.

Ty Johnson looks good at the plate as well; Ryan Green came into Saturday's game with Green ahead 4-2 and retired three in a row for the winning Green. He got 2 K's. Our closer? He does throw HEAT.

Green could be the closer (he has the name). What impresses me with the pitchers this year is they are strike throwers. It is so important.

Randy, I heard Acy Owens had a nice game. From what you have seen, who has the early lead at each position. I would presume Hoese at 3rd, Gozzo at SS, Artigues at 2B, Spoon in RF or CF. What about catcher (Acy?), RF, LF, and 1B?

1B is a big question mark from what little I can tell; Acy and Ty Johnson look to be in a battle at catcher.
OF: Jensen, Witherspoon, Heinrich maybe?
Kobi Owen, Ty Johnson (if he doesn't catch); Matt Rowland (if he doesn't play 1B) also in OF/DH mix I'd guess.
Will Mangurian and Grant Mathews played 1B Saturday
Andrew Gorham is a big kid with potential too -- OF/DH. Sepcich also played OF today.

It would be cool if someone named Green was our closer. Thanks to all for the updates.

Looks like Massey did better than what some were indicating. Glad to see it.

Only two total walks says a a lot. Not buying what you're selling.

Nobody is selling anything. He gave up 5 runs in 5+ innings in game 1. He didn't pitch well.
The next game I believe he didn't allow a run.

You do realize you have zero credibility when it comes to post on baseball. Your hate is obvious. Where's the box scores? How many runs were earned? He only gave up 2 walks in over 10 innings. Pretty consistent and pretty good.

I don't really care if I have no credibility with you. There's no hate from me, especially not towards the players.
I don't know where the box score is. You should ask whoever posted the stats on the website.
Getting the walks corrected is good, but there's more to pitching well than just not walking guys. He had games in the Summer in Corvallis where the walks were down but he still struggled to get outs.
Based on what I've seen and heard he was very good in game 5 of the series. That's when he recorded the majority of his strikeouts.
