The ERAs reported don't seem right to me (except, of course, McAffer's).

The one thing I hate bringing up, but it doesn’t relate to ERA’s, is the number of errors. You have guys that are either playing positions they haven’t played before, or played only sparingly. This has to be done, in order to field 2 teams of 8 defensive positions. Some of these guys will never play those positions in the spring. This is a long way of saying we had errors committed in the fall, that won’t be committed during the spring, and we had more runs scored, than you will see in the ERA’s.
Overall, i think we had a very good Fall Ball. We had good pitching, and we had good hitting. The main thing that was missing was a lot of home runs. Is that good pitching, or are we learning to adjust to college pitching?
I want to see what 35 guys are on the roster in the spring, and then see how they perform under the lights. A lot of February and March games are played at night, or INTO the night, due to the early sunset.
As for Massey, in my opinion, he pitched well. I think he, Roper, Johnson, Gillies, and Pellerin will all push for starting positions. Based on fall, Green seems to be the main reliever.
Again, just my opinion, and I purposely DO NOT speak to the coaches about players.

Solesky hasn't been mentioned anywhere. Injury or performance related if anyone knows.
We deserve so much better

Don't really have an answer to that, but every time I went out there he was behind home plate in the stands with a radar gunwavedom wrote:Solesky hasn't been mentioned anywhere. Injury or performance related if anyone knows.

I wouldn't expect us to hit a lot of HRs this year. We lost almost all of our HR hitters from last year.noladave wrote:The one thing I hate bringing up, but it doesn’t relate to ERA’s, is the number of errors. The question I have is about the strikeouts. Based on the stats posted our pitchers struck out 74 batters in just over 71 innings. That's a very good number for our pitchers but I hope it has more to do with how good the pitching is rather than it being a sign that the offense is going to have trouble putting the ball in play again this year.
