We scored 24 or more points. That helps.

It doesn't mean much now, but this and the Army game are important to the future I think.

I don't know why I thought changing the culture would be easier.

Probably the Bowden years.

Nice win. Great to see the guys get a well fought victory. First win in Greenville! And Mr. Marbley gets to celebrate it with his baby girl.

If and but's were...

should have beaten FIU and Cincy...we'd be bowl eligible at 6-4 with 2 games left.

Fritz: We'll take the W. That was a hard week last week. Proud of the guys. Had some things that didn't go our way but fought for 4 1/2 quarters. Thought we won it once but the call may have been right. It's a game of inches and I'm glad we made one more play than them. It started with Dontrell Hilliard. We're really close on some of those long pass plays. Defense gutted it up on the short fields we gave them. This was big for us. Very proud of the guys because of the tough loss last week. Seniors deserve our support next week. Every coach says this crap but I really believe it. We've stumbled but we've been close a lot so we deserve this. Whoo!

Let's give it a rest. Tulane is at best an average team. It won two close games late (Army and ECU)
lost/failed to win two close games (Cincy and Navy.) It can still do something in the next two weeks. Let's see what happens.

Bay— a yat is being a bit optimistic for sure, but he shouldn’t have to “give it a rest” 20 minutes after a win any more than the pessimistic army should 20 minutes after a loss. Can you imagine the s—storm if someone had asked people to give the pity party a rest 20 minutes after last week?

Prof, Before any specific game I'm probably the most optimistic Tulane fan around. Afterwards especially if it's a loss, it is what it is. I've never been much on teeth gnashing about Tulane athletics other than saving some bile for Rufus Harris, dropping out of the SEC, not hiring Rockne, firing Ellender, not hiring Infante, not hiring Rich Rod, moving to a Robin Hood tuition plan and abandoning Louisiana students, losing to LSU for like forever..... :green wink:

So point noted. I'm looking forward to seeing if TU can pull the rabbit out and go 7-6 and let's say make losing earlier winnable games irrelevant.

I thought it was a great win. Something that has been very difficult for us to do - win. Take it anyway we can. Go out next week and surprise some people. Momentum for one week. Let’s build on it.

No need for that.
Average below average teams make bowls every year

Good to get a road conference win for the first time in his knows how long. Wish we had been able to make this easy, but this team isn't the group to do that. So be it.

Still a sliver of something to play for the next two weeks.

Defense played admirably.
We just don't score enough points. Need to be in the 30s, and really the 40s against a team like ECU.

We are a couple OL away from being able to do that consistently.

And we need to integrate the passing game on first down more often. Mix it up. We had WR’s wide open all night. Hit some of those and the run game becomes even more effective and we put up 30+ points.
