Tulane is NOT near the bottom . Not much, but that's better than what we have seen around here in recent years.

That list makes it pretty clear that the AAC is far ahead of the SBC, MAC, and CUSA. But what's really eye-opening are the smattering of recently-good programs in the bottom 30 or so. Oregon State, BYU, Baylor, even UNC was good recently. Easy to fall very far, very fast....

That's progress. Next year at this time we should strive be in the top 50 and build from there.

What Pete points out shows that it's a lot easier to fall than it is to climb to the top (though some of those noted have a foundation in place to make a quicker recovery than others).

Feel bad for Tanner. Somehow transferred to a worse team than the one he was on when he was here.

Not so sure about that. Nebraska had a horrid season, but he couldn't even finish a season here. And UN didn't lose to a 3-9 GT team 65-10 while running 9 men on the field. Fact is, he made Nebraska a worse team with his performance.

And he left. Not sure why you'd feel bad for him

Considering how Frost's system emphasizes use of a dual-threat QB, do you think he could use the cork sucker-and-bull excuse he used to get there in the first place with extra eligibility again?

What is the record for impact player getting head coaches fired? Sure it may be a hall of shame record, but come on, that is golden. He has to be in the running. I can only hope he transfers to a school with a coach in the hot seat already for a 3 peat.

I still say that any system that ASSUMES that any of the top 5 would have beaten UCF is fallacious.

Since a 129-game season is infeasible, there needs to be a provision that forces any pretender to play an unbeaten team to prove that they deserve to be ranked higher than that unbeaten team.
