Re: Wave 100 Program
The current state by state numbers are kind of sad.

It is neat to see the number of alumni in each state. 400+ in Maine was a surprise to me.TU77CAL82 wrote:The current state by state numbers are kind of sad.

Sad about the numbers thus far? Uh, the campaign just started like yesterday, right? Or maybe retroactive to whomever gave $100 since January 1? Most people making charitable donations do so later in the year, or when constantly harassed by the campaigners of an impending deadline. I suspect it will get better soon.
Re: Wave 100 Program
Sad that the percentage of current givers to total alums in state is miniscule - to say the least.

Re: Wave 100 Program
I’m counted with Pennsylvania.
The interesting information in this chart hearkens back to the arguments we have here every couple of years about Tulane’s student makeup and how it isn’t New Orleans/Louisiana/Southern enough.
If you take this chart at face value, combined alumni in NY-NJ-MA-PA-MD totals 21,246. Throw in California’s sizeable 10,681 and you get 31,927 combined.
Yet, Louisiana by itself shows 38,509 living alumni. Texas adds another 14,962; Florida 9,783; and Mississippi 3,169.

Yes, that's exactly the point...we used to have much more local students.TUPF wrote:I’m counted with Pennsylvania.

This is a unique, cool fundraising reach out to the most dispersed alumni of any university in the U.S.
And yes...winning cures every problem. We are very close.

I saw those numbers last night and my first thought was some of the northeastern states seem very low.TUPF wrote:I’m counted with Pennsylvania.

Of course, I also realize these are alumni with whom Tulane has contact, and there are probably quite a few who have managed to drop off Tulane's lists.

I was under the impression this campaign just started a couple hours ago. First I heard about it was TD's tweet a few minutes before Donny posted here.PeteRasche wrote:Sad about the numbers thus far? I got a text about it last night but I think it was a "leak" of the web link that wasn't really public yet. Re: Wave 100 Program
These figures reflect $100 or more gifts to athletics within the 2018 fiscal year (July 1, 2017 to Feb 1, 2018) and a bulk of gifts come in Mid-March to Late-April which lines up with the football renewals.
The state Angry Wave decal will be hitting the mail in Mid-March.
And yes, we need bigger numbers in all state!

I love that Tulane is making an effort at fundraising with definite goals and transparency in showing our progress towards reaching those goals -- refreshing!

CT has twice as many alums as Arkansas. Process that in terms of proximity and relative size. I guess I added to the disparity.PeteRasche wrote:I saw those numbers last night and my first thought was some of the northeastern states seem very low.TUPF wrote:I’m counted with Pennsylvania.

Re: Wave 100 Program
By the way, I have been wondering:
It would be pretty cool to have a home state outline with it.
In light of the photo of TD with the Louisiana state outline with an Angry Wave in it, will the "one of a kind" mean each person will get a sticker that is the shape of their state, with an Angry Wave in it? Or will everyone get a Louisiana?we will send you a one of a kind decal

Re: Wave 100 Program
It will be the home state of the donor. Louisiana will only go to Louisiana donors. Etc.

I donated on 12/31/2017. So I guess I am the lone Kentucky donor. I know a few other Kentucky alumni. I'll have to harass them.
Re: Wave 100 Program
I assume this 100 campaign is separate from the regular annual gift?
Re: Wave 100 Program
I threw another $100 towards Tulane this morning. Let's see if Texas gets updated.
