My question wouldn't be could I house sit - it would be could I go play Pebble with you - we'll be in columbus sometime before we die - I'll bet on that (or just be happy with playing pebble)Johnny Mac wrote:just learned this week my potential hosts in Columbus will be in Pebble Beach that weekend.. A bad day in the ballpark is better than any other day!!

Talked to my dad yesterday. He said he officially purchased 2 tickets earlier this week.
I can confirm that they are indeed available on ticket master:

Why would you buy through ticketmaster and sit in the OSU seats when you can buy from Tulane (link upthread) and sit with friendly Tulane folks?Johnny4 wrote:PeteRasche wrote:Anyone have any idea of a ballpark of when we'd expect tickets to come available for the game, especially for non-season ticket holders? Re: Tulane vs Ohio State
BTW, the official tailgate info is put together and I'm told will be emailed out shortly. The game time is still unknown so they show both a breakfast and lunch menu. Tailgate will start 3 hours before the game, so I'm selfishly hoping it's not Noon (because I'm driving up that morning and that means an early start!).
Price tiers include adult, and non-legal kid (12-20). Kids under 12 are free. There is no lower "non-drinking adult" price, as suggested in a thread here last year. The tailgate spot is described as about a mile from the stadium. I'm curious whether there are shuttles from there, as that's a long way for older folks, or those (like me) who will be bringing little ones.

Somehow I completely missed the second half of page one. Obviously, don't buy from Ticketmaster if you can buy from Tulane!!
Pete -Let us know when you hear more about the tailgate. Do you know if the E-mail will only go out to those who purchased tickets from Tulane?

Some Ohio State-sided preview stuff (since big schools like this get massive media coverage and daily articles)...

Re: Tulane vs Ohio State
"With all due respect to the Green Wave, this is the least important game on Ohio State’s schedule. Tulane isn’t going to beat the Buckeyes and even if – and it’s an Isaiah Prince-sized if – it did, the Selection Committee would forget all about it as long as OSU takes care of business against Penn State the following week."
So, if there were a game the Buckeyes were going to look past, it could be this one!
Note: Isaiah Prince is a 6'7" 300+ lb lineman, so they're saying it's a big if.
Near losses to "G5" opponents:
2015 - #1 OSU 20 - Northern Illinois 13 (8-6)
2011 - #15 OSU 27 - Toledo 22 (9-4) (Buckeyes ended up 6-7, led by interim head coach and current UC Bearcat HC Luke Fickel.)
2009 - #6 OSU 31 - Navy 27 (10-4)
2008 - #3 OSU 26 - Ohio U 14 (4-8) (OU held the lead into the 4th quarter before fumbling a punt on their own 25 and then allowing a punt return touchdown)
2004 - #9 OSU 24 - Marshall 21 (6-6) (This was a .500 Marshall team not one of their good teams from the days of yore. I was at this game with my girlfriend at the time, her first football game. Buckeyes won it with a 55 yard field goal as time expired).
2003 - #2 OSU 16 - San Diego State 13 (6-6)
2003 - #5 OSU 24 - Bowling Green 17 (11-3) (BGSU was coached by Urban Meyer)
2002 - #6 OSU 23 - Cincinnati 19 (7-7) (This was played at Paul Brown stadium in Cincinnati. UC dropped two passes in the end zone in the final minute before throwing an interception on 4th down with 26 seconds left. OSU went on to win their first true national title since 1968.)
There have been plenty of other close games against "G5" teams that have gone into the 4th quarter. In fact, the Buckeyes are notorious for playing down to their competition. This article is from 2016, but still rings true. https://www.landgrantholyland.com/2016/ ... -struggles
I'm hoping for a long car ride home with dad (Buckeye Alum) Roll Wave!!

Re: Tulane vs Ohio State
That's a fair assessment because even though Rutgers is the Kansas of the East Coast, they are in the same conference.
When we put up 600 total yards of offense 400 on the ground they will be pissing down their leg when we are going for two in the third OT after they didn't convert.

So now they spin "Meyer knew about it" into "Meyer LIED ABOUT IT". Will this make any difference? Doubtful.NJwave wrote:Going 6-6 would be a grounds for being fired at a major football school. All else is forgiven.PeteRasche wrote:Things... JUST. GOT. INTERESTING.

MSN and the media that report and recycle theses cases are pathetic leeches. This story is helps no one except the media's bottom line. Also, in Meyer's defense, you can't tell the media the truth because they will not report the whole truth. They will report enough of the truth to make a story controversial and if its misleading who cares. It's a more sophisticated mirage akin to click-bait titles.PeteRasche wrote:So now they spin "Meyer knew about it" into "Meyer LIED ABOUT IT". Will this make any difference?
