The best fireworks salesmen have an eye patch and three fingers.

Happy birthday, America.

Doesn’t everyone have fireworks on their birthday?

He must be the guy who after selling fireworks to my relative said, "You can shoot them anywhere you want except my parking lot."

Anyway the Patriotic Angry Wave looks awesome. Since it's Labor Day Weekend, I'd buy something logoed with it for the WF game.

The PTB might as well hear from their customers ready to spend.........

You realize labor day is more of a hammer and sickle day than a stars and stripes day?

That said love it.

So we feel Independence Day is America's birthday? Or is it more of the date of conception?

Boston Tea Party feels more like conception...

Lexington and Concord or Yorktown would be acceptable answers

Most nations celebrate the day they actual WON their independence. As far as I know, we are the only ones who celebrate when we actually asserted our independence--before we went out and proved it.

(most of you are probably aware that most of the signatures were put down on July 2, and only a couple were added on the 4th)

Yeah, you could either go with the treaties ending the war, or I would support June 21 (1788)

As is common, you can often debate the exact date. There's several that could be chosen. This just the one we've picked and traditionally used; the tradition matters more than the "best" date, particularly a few centuries down the road.....
