3-9 or 4-8 --- a third LOSING season for WF.

The irony:
5 weeks ago we were concerned that without an experienced back up QB the season could be lost if our starting QB 'went down'. (Many thought the QB position would be measurably improved this year).
Now it seem that many believe the season will be a loss because our starting QB is 'still in'.
Besides the obvious problems at QB, I am as concerned about:
1. Lack of pass blocking;
2. Non-existent pass rush.
With or without season starting QB-4 wins.
For me the UAB loss is the most disheartening in decades because the expectations were reasonable and high, i.e. 7 to 8 wins.

I find I'm still looking at this train wreck. And I'm not sure what is wrong with me.
Anyway, this Wave team will beat SMU somehow. That's it. Two wins. So very disappointing when the program looked opportunity right in the eye--and then ran away screaming.

I think the concern for where this year seems to be going centers on the fact that many of us thought Banks would pick up from where he left off last year. Instead we've seen a significant regression. And the competition, in all honestly, hasn't been very hard.

The two and three win predictions feel very reactionary to me. I thought 8 to begin the season, though, so what do I know. I'm downgrading it to 5 wins because I don't think we are any worse than last year, just not any better either.
Cincy looks a lot better than last year. Tulsa and SMU are still bad. I think we are due against Navy and it's at home. And I guess maybe we steal one from somebody who is sleeping. That's all I got.
