the only reason to re-watch the UAB game is if that hot sideline reporter is part of the deal

she was apparently a very good basketball player at Stony Brook and worked briefly for the Rams before getting sent to "Stadium", the online streaming company that does the CUSA games for Facebook

Good ball handling skills? A master of rejection? Rattles the boards?

The point is that it’s just foolish to judge anything based on the way our first team plays against someone’s backups.
Especially when those "backups" are better than almost anybody's starters.

And playing with a 5 TD lead.

Which was mentioned.

I see no mention of that in this thread, but regardless, it's a key component that makes it pretty worthless to evaluate whether our 1s can match up with the "better than almost anybody's starters" 2s.

That and the fact that the second string QB in no way compares to Haskins at the most important position on a team. In fact if Burrow had stayed he would have been 3rd string.

I simply said was there was more talent on OSU's 2nd and 3rd string in terms of recruiting rankings than we'll ever face on the field at once the remainder of the year. My point has nothing to do with what plays they were calling or whether they were up 6 TDs. When a play is called, we have a 1, 2, or 3-star guy lined up across from their 3, 4, or 5-star guy. The OSU defensive lineman might be a 5-star freshman and our opposing offensive lineman might be a 2-star senior, so maybe we have a little advantage... But you can't tell me the OSU freshman was trying less or that he wasn't still as good as 95% of the guys we'll face from here forward. In fact, we'll face a grand total of ONE 5-star guy the rest of the season (Oliver with Houston, right?). Maybe two or three (can't remember stars of some transfers to AAC opponents)... Regardless, not more than one per team. How many 5-star guys were playing in the second half for OSU? I'm not going to research but I'd bet at least one or two, maybe quite a bit more. And certainly more 4-star guys than we'll see at one time in AAC play. So that was my point. Individually, one-on-one, OSU in the second half was likely as much of a, if not a greater, challenge than almost everyone we'll face (again, individually) the rest of the year. And no matter what play is called, no backup is going to slack up because he's up 6 scores. Everyone out there was trying.

I was only pointing this out because y'all are acting like OSU put in a mediocre high school team against us in the second half, or like there was nothing whatsoever to be gleaned from it.

Wavedom, you really want to rip on OSU's backup QB? Like we wouldn't all love to have him ourselves? Or even their third string? Don't be silly.

Wouldn't want him. He only led them to one score against our D and that's with all that massive talent advantage he had.

Check this game out:

Do you think our starters were basically as good as the backups (all of whom were more highly recruited, etc.) on the national runner's up? Or do you think that they perhaps played with less of a sense of urgency after the game was in hand?

Please don't tell me you're comparing basketball and football.

You still don't get my point. But I know you'll keep arguing, so go ahead, cowboy.
