It is Signing Day, right?

Post by Yankeewave »

Figured this should be on the Big Board, even if we will probably only sign 1 or two players.

the early period seems to be working out well for us.

My only remaining question is if Darius Hodges is actually a commit. I know there was some flux there. I’m impressed with this class - it’s balanced and one thing that sticks out is the size of these athletes.

Looking forward to tonight!

No, he has been signed since December. He wanted it kept quiet so he could say he “signed” with everyone else at his school at the same time.

I was changing my post to say it was announced when you posted that.

I knew you knew but there are some who still don’t. Even now.

Hodges will spend most if not all of his career up front with his hand on the ground. Heck, he’s bigger than Robert Kennedy was when he signed.

Green Wave adds defensive back, grad transfer offensive lineman before signing day

https://www.theadvocate.com/new_orleans ... 136a5.html

Guerry opines that we may only give out 2 more scholarships and that "The Wave could add a defensive lineman — 6-foot-4, 240-pound three-star prospect Dal’mont Gourdine of Charleston, South Carolina took an official visit the weekend of Jan. 25"

Per a UConn blog, their class is full and Gourdine is not a part of it and speculating he will be at Tulane.

I think he’s listed as a Joker on his announcement.

He is. He'll be backing up Patrick Johnson initially.

in re Knutson: "If he lines up at guard at Tulane, he likely would compete with third-year sophomore Cameron Jackel, a Shaw alum, for a starting spot".. when did Jackel get moved to guard? He played well at RT and I figured he would be the incumbent this spring.
