The players -

JR Marvin Moody
SO Keitha Jones
SR Lawrence Graham
RS SO KJ Vault
SO Nick Anderson
FR Armani Dixon (listed as Joker)
FR Darius Hodges (listed as Joker)
FR Dorian Williams

It will be interesting to see the depth chart at LB. This is a position we seem to be a little thin unless we will be playing two LB’s most of the time (which we more than likely will). Is this position better than it was when Fritz was hired. This is the only position on the team where I think we have regressed. I hope I am wrong.

I confess I don’t see where the concept of regression comes in. Not yet, anyway.

It seems like one position that has improved since Fritz got here.

I said that because I don’t see a Marley, Marbley, or Harris. I know Moody and Graham are good players, but are they better than the guys I named? And who will supply the depth?

Going into the season we’re ahead of last year. Last year we knew Harris was solid and figured Graham might be ready to step up. Beyond that we knew nothing. This year we know Graham and Moody are solid. Beyond that we have three or so lettermen and Anderson. Playing two guys at a time that’s fair depth and if Anderson is as good as Mutz makes him sound we’ll be doing well.

Also, don’t overrate guys just because they’re gone. Marbley was good as a senior but going into that last year he had fewer career starts than both Graham and Moody will carry into this year.
