Bates didn’t last an inning with 3 BBs but Whelan, Green, Boeneke and Pellerin come in to go a combined 8.1 IP allowing just 2 hits, 3 walks and K 9.

Whelan gets the W (2-0).

Haskin 3-4 with 4 Runs scored and Artigues 3-3 with 4 RBIs

Wave now 10-3 and take on UCSB this weekend

I don’t think that predicted results algorithm is going to be very accurate. It also has ECU going 24-31 and Connecticut going 27-29.

Aren't you always math this statistics that?

Sort of, but that’s based on actual results. Not predicted. I don’t see ECU or Connecticut finishing below .500
I’d like to see how they arrived at those predictions.

Tulane took care of business in a reassuring manner tonight. Although attendance was sparse at both venues, more fans than some might guess pulled double duty by going to both games.

Last MBB/baseball doubleheader is Saturday but game times don't conflict like tonight's did. UCSB is 8-2 and coming off a two game sweep of Pepperdine. If Tulane wins series, it's season winning percentage will be .750 through about 3/10 of its schedule and a large step toward a solid year-end record.

our conference missed some good opportunities to take series vs SEC teams, (us ole miss, someone went 1/3 against Auburn), but that UCONN win over Louisville looks nice. i think this weekend looks to be the second most important ooc weekend of the year.

will we change our Saturday starter? do we have the depth to do so?

No walks for Pellerin last night. Glad he got back on the horse and threw strikes. He needs to keep that mentality even in pressure situations.

This is the argument for not playing these types of teams (though it’s nearly unavoidable). We win by 12 yet our RPI dropped 17 spots.

Actually the projected return date sounds like a very solid outcome.

Yale baseball has an RPI rank of 6 at the moment; doubt any of these numbers mean much at this point of season. Ole Miss will be a NCAA host and Top 12 team at year end, if not better than that. Their RPI is mid 70s today.

I dont dispute that, but its fun to watch how it shifts so dramatically early on.

If that’s the return timeframe, why didn’t they just do it the first weekend?
