Baseball splits a double header with UC Riverside

Post by visualmagic »

Won game one 10-1. Lost game two 10-1. Have to win tomorrow. Can’t have a series loss to a bad team like this.

Sundays haven’t been much better. We have one reliable starter and a (to put it nicely) “shaky” bullpen.
Ross Massey pitched a scoreless 9th which was nice to see.

It was really nice to see Ross on the mound again.

We must win tomorrow. Riverside is terrible. Losing 2-3 would be brutal.

Big game today. We were 9-2 and had a lead in the 9th against Army. We're now 12-7. Winning today and sweeping the next week would go a long ways towards making a regional, but it starts by winning today. Gilles can't seem to get past the 4th inning or so. Shame as he was our best pitcher last year and rumored to be going pro after this year. Can't believe he has an ERA over 10.

Unfortunately this strength of schedule isn’t doing us any favors

Solesky was tremendous and Niemann with 3 more hits. Way to bounce back after our worst performance of the year. 13-7 through 20 games and have USL the next two weeks surrounded by weekend series against Houston Baptist and Cinncy. I think 20-8 is doable. That would be terrific heading into the meat of the schedule.

Also, Mr. Burns was 2-4 playing SS today. Making the most of his opportunity. Congrats kid.
