Nothing very new, just puts all the new names in one place.

No mention of Hightower sitting out (or not).

With the four grad transfers and other upper class men on the roster, this may be the oldest Tulane MBB team I can recall.

Separate note, Ajang is listed as a junior so he did not receive a medical redshirt.

Don't they sometimes wait til after the eligibility is done to ask for the extra year?

He has applied for the waiver. No decision yet.

First time in (forever?) I'm more excited about basketball (and football) than baseball

Don't think I've ever seen such a radical remaking of a lineup. With a whole new coaching staff with a new set of schemes too.Should be fun to watch if for no other reason than we have no idea what to expect.

I was responding to the radical remaking of a lineup

which was only one part of the observation I was making about the upcoming year. New lineup, whole new Staff, new offensive and defensive schemes. Make this year coming up pretty unique for Tulane.*

*although you can argue that Perry's first year comes pretty close.

Already forgot 1992-93? We had two freshmen, one sophomore and one redshirt sophomore, three Juniors and a redshirt junior, and five seniors. Not counting a redshirt or transfer sit-out year as experience, that team had 25 years of letterman experience at the start of the year, which is unbelievable considering it was before the "grad transfer" era. Of course it was unique in that it was the senior year of the class that started a team from scratch.

Using that guideline, our current roster has 22 years of experience. But considering the transfers and sit-outs, they are right there with the 1993 team in terms of experience... just not experience together. But considering how young we were last year (15 years experience if you include two upperclassmen who didn't touch the court all year, plus we graduated two seniors), it's an astounding leap.

Sadly, both that team and this team experienced a 4-win season in order to get there...

Uh, "pretty close"? "You can argue"? How can you be any more "all new everything" than starting a program from scratch? :? :? :?: :?:

Not playing experience. I was referring to chronological age. I suspect more than one of these guys will be 23 next season. It will be like we are BYU South. I will be more clear next time.

However your example concretely reminds us that experience matters. It would be fun to see a team perform like yours again. May it be Hunter's.

Means we can’t use “young” as an excuse.

How long have you been a Tulane fan? :-D

It’s a rebuilding year
It’s the coach’s 1st year
We will be better next year
We are bigger, faster, stronger
WE ARE YOUNG!

Pick one...

That was Teevens, not Toledo.

Since when do you only get one?

Unless the one is ‘all of the above’

You are correct. Won't be able to say that about the football team either. Refreshing.
