Redshirt junior Braden Olthoff headlined the list of individuals named to the preseason all-league team, as he was selected AAC Preseason Pitcher of the Year. In addition, Olthoff was one of only five players in the league to earn unanimous selections to the preseason all-conference team.
A little direction change here, but did anyone consider delaying the season by a month?
Coach Jones was a constant advocate for a later season and this would have been the perfect year to try it.
Warmer weather would have helped with reducing the spread of Covid-19 and having an extra month of rolling out the vaccines certainly would have been a plus.
well, no schedule or season start date has been released yet. Feb. 19 would be the original or routine start of the season...but it remains to be seen what happens in the new year or whether that Feb. date stands.
With Baseball around the corner I was wondering about Two Pitchers who didn't throw in the TU WS . Our outstanding FR from last year Jannetta and our top JC recruit Ball did not see action are they hurt ?
It's just about mid-January and we don't have schedules for baseball or volleyball. I realize that the pandemic is the ultimate reason, but I still don't get it.
Here are 8 confirmed non conference games -- March 2 (Tue) vs. Nicholls at Tulane (Turchin Stadium)
March 12-14 three games vs. Troy (away) Fri-Sat-Sun
March 19-21 three games. vs. La. Tech (home, Turchin Stadium) Fri-Sat-Sun
Tulane will travel to play at E. Carolina (4 games in three days) May 7, 8 and 9; Also, judging by ECU's schedule, there should be just 6 midweek games on the Tulane schedule (and I wonder if the Nicholls road game on April 20 in Thibodaux will be moved up a few weeks since conference play starts the first weekend in April and I was under impression there'd be no non conference play once AAC games begin).
i am sure the lack of OOC will enable the powers that be to treat the American even worse than usual come selection time since American teams won't have the opportunity to beat teams from the so called power conferences. I am sure it'll be an SEC/ACC tidal wave
