If they used the bleachers they could get 500 in, well spaced (and of course, outdoors).
The gap between the top of the big leagues and their bottom is now bigger than the gap between their bottom and us - P.R. told me to do this

Except then they wouldn't be spaced out as much
Been to any Tulane baseball games recently?

Social distancing won't be a problem. Just keep the club area in the press box closed, and you would have no trouble keeping the fans from congregating in large groups.

Also, the older Tulane fans that attend baseball games would have no problem following any rules put in place by event staff (mask guidelines, strict assigned seating, etc.). It is always a friendly, good-natured crowd.

The city is only allowing 8% capacity.
We still aren't there!

I'm not talking about normal crowds. Obviously 3 times as many people couldn't be spaced out as much

I just had a giggle at the title of this thread because if this were Ye Olde TCU Forum then it would be a Beavis and Butthead reference.
Sports Talk radio and most sports message boards are the killing fields of intellectual discourse.

So if only 8% equals 180 people, then Turchin only holds,

2250?

It holds 5,000 I believe.

Tulane decided on the 180 number themselves, I would guess.

Is that 180 to the public plus additional for family members? Or 180 total?

IIRC the 180 allowed are general admission. This is after allocation of tickets for coaches & players families & visiting team. The 180 general admission is limited to Green Wave Club members & season tickets holders who have not requested a refund. Tickets are complimentary & are limited to four per game. Those eligible will receive an email invitation to request tickets.

I think you have to pay for the baseball tickets. It's football and basketball that were complimentary. Obviously the former is fair but we all did like the latter as a temp bridge solution.

Baseball tickets are SOLD up to the 180 limit based on access dates that allow large donors, then modest donors, then small donors and season ticket holders to order series by series. You go online to buy the tickets (in pods of 2 seats or 4) or call the ticket office when your date of access arrives. You sit in the assigned seats that you have bought to maintain social distancing. Tickets are not general admission/sit wherever you like.
Here is the schedule to order:

also the chair-back seats in the lower or field-level bowl of Turchin Stadium are not for sale because COVID restrictions consider them too close to the playing surface to allow spectators to sit there. These unsold seats are those in sections below the concrete walkway that arcs through the stadium.

Will this impact being on ESPN+? It's not been updated on their schedule yet, but something to watch.
