I’m Not butthurt at all. You seem more butthurt than me. (The only post in this entire thread where I thought someone seemed upset was a post made by you)TUPF wrote: ↑Wed Apr 07, 2021 5:19 pmAre you guys seriously butthurt over Twitter? Counting tweets? Long term Tulane fans should have thicker skins.visualmagic wrote: ↑Wed Apr 07, 2021 2:21 pmHe could have simply ignored the comment. Him blocking GSx doesn’t delete the comment, everyone else can still see it.NJwave wrote: ↑Wed Apr 07, 2021 2:12 pmWhile he shouldn't have blocked GSX, any answer he gave would have been bs. There is no way he would have disparaged them and would have had said something like "We have a long tradition of playing ULL that we believe both fan bases enjoy and we really expect them to be a top notch opponent." It would not have satisfied anybody and would have been a lie, but on social media it is pretty much all he could have said. He probably didn't want a disparaging remark about ULL on his twitter feed.visualmagic wrote: ↑Wed Apr 07, 2021 1:42 pmThere Are 25 tweets from TD’s account in 2021. I don’t think it’s A Stretch at all to think he runs that account by himself but of course it’s possible that he doesn’t. I do see the pros of deleting or blocking negativity but blocking and deleting negative replies to tweets @ the AD, which are few and far between isn’t making much of a difference when I see the same accounts replying with negativity at the official Football/basketball/baseball accounts when they post a final score of a loss.PeteRasche wrote: ↑Wed Apr 07, 2021 6:27 am Question: do y'all really think our AD has nothing better to do than sit in his office surfing Twitter and blocking people who say mean things?
Outside of our recent Commander in Chief, probably 99% of people in higher-up public administrative roles - especially ones that have to use social media for contact to their followers - have a person or team of people running their Twitter account. Those people may have been given specific instruction to keep the account "clean", meaning anything negative or questioning of the program gets deleted/blocked - which, if the case, you can argue the pros and cons of. Obviously if you are someone who was deleted or blocked, you only see it as a con; if you see the account as an advertisement for the school and athletic program, then keeping it "positive" for potential outsiders (recruits?) would be a reason to have that done.
I definitely don’t see any pros of blocking GSx for asking "why in the world are we scheduling ULL."
I was simply sharing some thoughts and information, I’m not mad at all about TD’s Twitter use. But I do find it interesting that you think that the fans need to have thicker skin but the AD doesn’t.
