AAC Transfer Portal Tracker
Re: AAC Transfer Portal Tracker
Just make sure Mom doesn’t “press” for a package transfer deal with the NSU QB.

Re: AAC Transfer Portal Tracker
Updated as of today. Changes highlighted in blue. New entries have whole line highlighted. Old entries that have a destination have it highlighted. One commit has decommitted from UCF and has been struckthrough (sp?).
Highlights:
Highlights:
- Cinci signed Ben Bryant from EMU. He was a productive QB there and may compete to start this season.
- Houston has been more active, adding 4 new transfers, including 3 from P5s
- as a result of this being Malzahn's first full year at UCF, the Knights have been particularly active. They've had 16 players enter the portal (1st in AAC) and have added two more P5 commits
- USF lost QB Cade Fortin, who played against us this past season, to Arkansas. Fortin had already transferred from UNC to USF, so this is his third school.

Bryant went to EMU from Cincinnati. Now he's back. Funny.

Re: AAC Transfer Portal Tracker
Well he certainly wasn't going to start over Ridder, so he went and got some real game experience and now is back to compete for the starting spot. Probably a good move on his part.long green wrote: ↑Tue Jan 18, 2022 1:53 pm Bryant went to EMU from Cincinnati. Now he's back. Funny.
BTW, not that it matters much to us, but the 4-star, "highest rated recruit in Cincinnati history" local QB they signed a few years ago has apparently lost favor with fans, going from "he should start over Ridder as a freshman" status in early 2020 to "next, please" now. So this guy may be saying something by his choice to return.

Georgia QB Bennett went from walking on at Georgia to Jones County JC (played with Nick Anderson) then back to Georgia to win a championship.tulaneoutlaw wrote: ↑Tue Jan 18, 2022 1:59 pmTrailblazing for Hunter Johnson who just did Clemson-Northwestern-Clemsonlong green wrote: ↑Tue Jan 18, 2022 1:53 pm Bryant went to EMU from Cincinnati. Re: AAC Transfer Portal Tracker
Another update to the tracker.
- Memphis gets busy filling their outages with four players, all from FBS but only one P5. That takes them from two to six transfers in.
- UCF continues to add P5 talent with a Florida and Auburn transfer (both listed as 4 stars). That's two in this group from Auburn for Gus, plus Joey Gatewood who is went Auburn-UK-UCF. 8 out of 9 UCF transfers in are P5.
- Speaking of UCF, three more players in the portal which brings them to 19 this year.
- Temple with two more players hitting the portal. They remain the only program in the AAC with no transfers in (not counting Navy).
- Tulsa loses a big name in Jaxon Player. He's listed as a 4 star DL and will be headed to Baylor.

Per NCAA Transfer Portal on Twitter:
Since he’s on scholarship he can be replaced with one of the recent transfers without counting against the limit.
Per Guerry, he was put on scholarship last year but did not have a catch in a game for Tulane.Tulane WR Ryan Thompson entered the portal as a grad transfer after playing in 12 games during his career with the Green Wave

Re: AAC Transfer Portal Tracker
That's 12 games over 4 years (2018-2021). And, one of those games was Morgan State, when everybody got on the field. I guess, if he was on the field for just one snap, that's still considered participating, right? Couldn't find any stats on how many catches, etc. So, I can see why he'd want to transfer.waverider wrote: ↑Wed Jan 26, 2022 6:18 pmI had the same reaction. He's a grad transfer; that means he's finished his degree. No reason for him to stay; honestly he's doing us a favor. Best wishes in grad school.Marathon Wave wrote: ↑Wed Jan 26, 2022 6:42 pmThat's 12 games over 4 years (2018-2021). And, one of those games was Morgan State, when everybody got on the field. Yep. Especially since he hadn't really made an impact. Hope he can get more playing time where he winds up.GretnaGrn wrote: ↑Thu Jan 27, 2022 12:27 pmHe's a grad transfer; that means he's finished his degree. Re: AAC Transfer Portal Tracker
Updated for the last week. Less movement this week. Temple finally gets on the board with three transfers in (S. Car, TAMU and Houston). SMU picks up a Texas WR. A few exits from very schools. Did we know about Reginald Neely being in the portal? I don't remember seeing it here.

Re: AAC Transfer Portal Tracker
Updated for today. Six more transfers out and some more with destinations decided. Most are headed to other G5 leagues or below; the only exception is Navy losing a LB to TCU.
Four transfers into the league since last week, three from FCS and Temple added a Penn St. DL with the last name of Darkwa. I don't think he is related to Orleans since his hometown is listed as Dusseldorf, Germany, but you never know.

Re: AAC Transfer Portal Tracker
Enrollment for spring semester at most schools nationally is now closed. Quarter schools can still admit folks around April 1st. As concerns Tulane and most of our competitors/neighbors, we may see a lot of announced comings and goings but they won’t be effective until June 1st or so.
I would guess Fritz will still bring several new players in to play next fall All tbd

One unusual aspect of this, grad students can be admitted and start at any time. Not true for undergrads who are subject to school academic calendar. Thus ASU QB grad transfer to LSU could instantly appear on campus recently.Baywave1 wrote: ↑Mon Feb 07, 2022 1:12 pm Enrollment for spring semester at most schools nationally is now closed. So I guess Fritz could do same thing and we could see another grad transfer before June 1st. Again this would be unusual if occurring at all.

Re: AAC Transfer Portal Tracker
Updated the spreadsheet after ~1 month. Thanks to rider for the inspiration. There's been little movement but a few notable changes have happened and some more names have hit the portal. I'd expect things to heat up after all spring practices are complete and some jobs are decided across the country. of note:
- SMU added Owen Conden, an OT from UGA, but also lost Ulysses Bentley to Ole Miss. He was a very productive RB for them when healthy
- Memphis had two more players enter the portal and one of them is headed to GT. They've had 15 hit the portal, joining Houston, ECU, USF, and UCF as teams with at least 15 players in the portal.
- 68 players have transferred into the AAC, with 44 of those (~65%) coming from P5s. 122 names have hit the portal. Over half (68) have no home yet. ~15% (18) have headed to the P5 while fellow G5s (22) are the most popular landing spot for those who have one.
