HC Ron Hunter was upbeat and optimistic. He said that this team is very talented. They know they can compete with anyone in this conference, and that he wants to beat Houston this season, who most experts are already ranking in the Top 5 nationally. He stated that he wants to get into the NCAA Tournament this year and being in the Sweet 16. He joked that the biggest thing hindering this team would be poor coaching.
He spoke about the three new players. He said all three will be in the rotation. He stated Percy Daniels has size and will be a very good player. He stated Collin Holloway knows how to play and can score inside and out. He said Tre’ Williams has played big time games at Minnesota, but was limited by injuries last season at Oregon State. He said Williams gives them more size in the backcourt which was needed.
