I think he is the best defensive center fielder I have ever seen at Tulane, and Tulane has had some very good ones.

Jared’s coverage of field may be best at Tulane I’ve seen. However his arm appears to this lay eye as at best average so I’m not sure he is best Wave CF ever. His glove is so good though I could see him winning a national fielding award. Hope so.

I was trying to think of all the CF we have had in my time following closely and Southard was the one I thought of that was probably the best all-around CF we have had.

Reading this thread is a reminder of how good we have been in CF. Throw in SS and we have had some pretty stout defenses up the middle.

That dive towards the wall. His dad used to sit a couple rows in front of me so needless to say there was a lot of celebration in our section when that happened.
