I'll call these meaningless when we are #1 just as I did when we were #51, but I'm at least glad we are moving up in the world for optics reasons. And so we don't have to have 10 page threads on here every year
“We will expect success in all endeavors and be prepared to assess and hold ourselves accountable when we aren't successful. Tulane is a top 40 academic institution and it should expect nothing less from its athletic department.” --Troy Dannen 11.5.16

Re: U.S, News, etc. 2017 Rankings
Dear Friends,
I am delighted to share the news that Tulane has again risen in the U.S. News Best Colleges rankings. The 2017 rankings, released today, move us to No. 39, up from No. 41 last year and our 2015 ranking of 54.
This ranking is the highest Tulane has received in more than 16 years. I’m thrilled our vibrant multidisciplinary culture and our commitment to innovative and inspired teaching, learning and discovery has been recognized on a national level in such a wonderful way.
Just two short weeks ago, we began the 2016-2017 academic year by welcoming the largest, most academically qualified and selective group of first-year students in our history. It’s an exciting time to be at Tulane, and I could not be more proud of all of the members of our community who helped make this success possible.
Warmly,
Mike Fitts
