Not good. I hope the women get all the help they need.

The USMC does not fool around. And since it was during Fleet Week the US Navy flotilla commander will also get his kilo of flesh. These guys are cooked no matter what the civilian court does.

The article you linked says an Army ROTC student but nevertheless, the guy is toast. Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ) still applies to ROTC students (as was made very clear to us at the time) no matter what happens in the civilian courts. I am not being overly dramatic when I say they all could end up in Leavenworth.

And the earlier post of the incident having happened during Fleet Week led me to believe it involved embarked Marines. Not so. These are locally stationed guys at Belle Chase. The Navy/Marine Corp JAG are going to make an example out of these guys if there is an scintilla of evidence supporting the allegations.

If they are convicted in civilian court do they get UCMJ trial too?

It all depends. The short answer is they could get both. And UCMJ is not a trial in a traditional sense—a commanding officer has great leeway in meeting out punishment with much lower thresholds of evidence. You might be thinking of a court martial which is more akin to a civilian trial. These guys are in deep kimchee any way you look at it.
