Letter from President Fitts

Post by TUPF »

Tulane University
FALL 2019
Dear Tulane Community,

The energy of this academic year is electric. Tulane’s ascending admissions numbers, record fundraising efforts and fresh focus on research allow us to aim for the pinnacle of higher education.

Joining our incoming Class of 2023 are new leaders. Lee Skinner, PhD is our dean of Newcomb-Tulane College, Dr. Giovanni Piedimonte, is our vice president for research and Tony Hu, PhD is our second endowed presidential chair.

We opened the Commons, home to the Newcomb Institute and a state-of-the-art dining experience. We plan to build residential learning communities where Bruff currently stands.

Next we’ll build Steven and Jann Paul Hall, anchoring Tulane’s Science and Engineering District. Tulane’s downtown campus may soon be transformed as we continue discussions in the redevelopment of Charity Hospital.

I challenge our community to look to the future—one where Tulane stands as the model for academic excellence and discovery.

Roll Wave!
