Are you thinking he got pressure or was even made aware that he'd become public enemy for Tulane sports fans and that's why he'd leave? I bet he had no clue whatsoever that people hated him for that stuff.

He definitely got pressure. Don't know that it made him leave, but when you reverse a policy like that, you got pressure.
There were other issues, such as turning down first-choice Tulane students for want of a few SAT points.

Sounds like addition by subtraction.

I think that he probably spent a bunch of time/energy coming up with some new policy (for lack of a better word) and then it gets reversed by Fitts on a whim based on complaints from 28 fans of our 2-10 football team (again, from his perspective). I'm sure he feels like the work he put in was wasted and that he's not valued (is he a millenial?). If some equivalent happened in your job, you'd probably be looking elsewhere as well.PeteRasche wrote: ↑Thu Jan 13, 2022 5:08 pmAre you thinking he got pressure or was even made aware that he'd become public enemy for Tulane sports fans and that's why he'd leave? Being totally honest, I had somewhat forgotten that his policy had just been reversed by the PTB. I was thinking he'd also been involved in previous athletes not being accepted. As my foggy brain has now been reminded of what all he did, this explanation makes perfect sense and you are probably right.ml wave wrote: ↑Fri Jan 14, 2022 10:41 amI think that he probably spent a bunch of time/energy coming up with some new policy (for lack of a better word) and then it gets reversed by Fitts on a whim based on complaints from 28 fans of our 2-10 football team (again, from his perspective). Anyway, I join the chorus with a hearty, "don't let the door hit you".

Or perhaps Fitts, not a micromanager, wasn't aware of the policy until the "28 fans" squawked about it; and he reversed it, not on the whim of "28 fans" but because he thought the policy was bad for Tulane and Tulane athletics.ml wave wrote: ↑Fri Jan 14, 2022 10:41 am I think that he probably spent a bunch of time/energy coming up with some new policy (for lack of a better word) and then it gets reversed by Fitts on a whim based on complaints from 28 fans of our 2-10 football team (again, from his perspective). That may or may not be true, but either way I seriously doubt that's how your boy took it.GSx wrote: ↑Sat Jan 15, 2022 3:40 pmOr perhaps Fitts, not a micromanager, wasn't aware of the policy until the "28 fans" squawked about it; and he reversed it, not on the whim of "28 fans" but because he thought the policy was bad for Tulane and Tulane athletics.ml wave wrote: ↑Fri Jan 14, 2022 10:41 am I think that he probably spent a bunch of time/energy coming up with some new policy (for lack of a better word) and then it gets reversed by Fitts on a whim based on complaints from 28 fans of our 2-10 football team (again, from his perspective).
