And UCF fans are letting them know how they are degrading the conference with deals like that.

And now USF is degrading the conference further with a 2/1 with Alabama. 2023 in Tampa. Tuscaloosa in '24 and '26

2/1 are simply a reality these days

degrading the conference is not taking the deals necessary to get at least some home games with P5

Yep.

Sun Belts, MACs, and almost all CUSAs can't even get 2 for 1's.

How is it that one state can have so many obnoxious fanbases (UCF, Miami, FSU, arguably Florida)

I have no problem with that. What some of these AAC ADs should do is a 2 for 1, but also make a 1 and 1 for basketball and even do a 1 and 1 weekend series in baseball tied into the football deal.

Arguably? Florida is the worst fan base in the nation.....no world (LSU is not in the this world)

Seems like Vanderbilt would have to do 2 for 1 to get good nonconf P5

Please. You can laugh all you want at Vanderbilt, they'll just sit there on top of their massive pile of SEC money and with their massive endowment and smile. You want Vandy SEC? Two for one. Pony up. (no pun intended, seeing as it's SMU)

And Vandy hasn't even deemphasized baseball! :jerry:

Sorry to ruin your sarcasm or snark or joke (if any of those are what this was) but what was Tulane's contract with FIU? I honestly don't remember.

Mike Bianchi: Why doesn't national media back UCF scheduling philosophy instead of blasting it?

Quote:
From the beginning, White has made it abundantly clear that he won’t allow UCF to be at a financial or competitive disadvantage by scheduling two-for-one series with any Power 5 opponents, including Florida, Florida State or Miami. Two-for-ones call for UCF to play major conference opponents on the road twice while receiving only one home game in return.
That’s why Wolken’s sarcastic tweet caused such a strong reaction — probably too strong — from White.
“So Danny White won’t do 2-for-1s with Power Fives but will do 1-for-1s with FIU. Makes sense,” Wolken sniped on Twitter.
Actually, it does make perfect sense when you consider White always has advocated one-for-ones — even amid criticism from some of UCF’s own fans.
White responded to Wolken by tweeting, “Just seeing this. Disappointed in you Dan. You took your shot, hope you get a lot of clicks — congrats! We have been very clear about our scheduling philosophy. We don’t believe in inequitable scheduling. Our program has accomplished far too much to have to do that.”
