That is an excellent refresher for who's who in the zoo. With all the movement over the last few years, I honestly lose track of conference membership. I had forgotten Utah is in the Pac 12, among others. BYU really looks like an island.

And boy oh boy, are we glad CUSA is in the rear view mirror...

Seeing Rutgers and especially Maryland in the Big 12 looks like science fiction to me and will for a while.

Agree. I guess a lot of our perceptions harden when we are younger, but having spent most of my post-Tulane years in New England...Maryland was the Maryland of Len Elmore, Albert King and ACC basketball wars...Rutgers was that school always trying to get you to know that it was the state university for New Jersey (with not a lot of respect at that).

We're tied for 1st!

1st in the Nation, too, FWIW.

I look at that lineup and come away impressed. The AAC has a nice compliment of schools, they all bring something good to the table, whether it be in football or basketball (and in many cases both). We have nothing to be ashamed of being included in that group. As I keep saying, a legitimate Div.1A Conference. A great day for Tulane.

Very good lineup in the AAC. I think we'll be very competitive in football, baseball, men's tennis, women's golf, women's basketball, and probably volleyball. I don't know about women's swimming & diving or men's and women's track & field; we may do well in some events and not so well in others. We'll need a very talented cadre of incoming freshmen to compete in women's tennis, but we should do well in that sport again within two years. I won't comment about men's basketball because I try to be upbeat. :wink:
Let's play two.

Since it's a slow news day, any of you folks figure out mechanism/logic of order of how teams are listed? It obviously is not alphabetical nor time in conference nor performance last year. So just from an optics angle I was curious as to why Tulane is listed last in AAC and say UMass is listed first in its division within MAC (or Miami, FLA, last in its ACC division.)

We may be tied for first in the nation today but for whatever reason we're listed last. For you conspiracy buffs out there, we need to know the reason.....

No East West type of setup ? This means no Championship game.

NCAA conferences must have 12 members for a championship game to be sanctioned.
The AAC will meet that requirement when Navy becomes a member in 2015.

And at the point, the divisions will be:
WEST - Houston, Memphis, Navy, SMU, Tulsa, Tulane
EAST - UCF, Cincinnati, UConn, ECU, USF, Temple
We praise thee for thy future, Alma Mater;

We shall ever be part of thee, great Mother;
Thou wilt be where e'er thy children are.
