Four games against ranked opponents this week. Would be a great opportunity to get the conference noticed but instead (due to the matchups) will likely be mostly AAC being blown out. Memphis is the only one on paper that wouldn't be.

I had that Memphis game circled as a likely candidate for UCLA Kiffining (as in, firing their coach at the airport) Jim Mora at halftime of the Texas A&M game. A 9:00 AM PST kickoff with 2 suspect defenses and 2 talented QBs; it's gonna get weird regardless.

USF has had 2 punts, a FG and a 35yd PAT blocked midway through the first quarter. . The blocked PAT was returned for 2 Pts. With 7:23 left in Q1 it's 6-2 USF.

Well I thought USF had a legit shot to go undefeated. They were favored in every game going into this season and had something like the 104 SOS. Boy have they not looked the part. I don't think Strong is a good coach, but I thought he'd be ok with the talent USF has on hand. Not looking that way so far.

Flowers is terribly overrated. He extends plays, but passes bad. They miss M.Mack.

Four - FOUR! - of our conference games had scores totaling over 80 points  including Toledo and Tulsa dropping 105 (54-51 Toledo). Six out of 10 reached 70 (adding us and USF to the other four).

Miami (OH) goes up 17-6 on Cincinnati with 4:45 remaining. Not good for the conference. Cincinnati is struggling under new coach Fickell.

Edit: UC goes down the field without using a timeout in just over 2.5 minutes for a TD and 2pt conversion, now kicking off down only 3.

Wow... Miami just went full-on Bob Toledo/Curtis Johnson. On the ensuing kickoff they put 10 guys up expecting onsides kick, and their lone back screwed up and downed the ball at their 1 yard line. On both first and second down, for some reason the refs stop the clock and put time back on, even though the clock should have been running because guys were tackled inbounds (once they put the time on, they then ran the clock....?) They get to 3rd and 2 with under a minute from like their own 9, and the clock is running. Miami's coach tells the side judge he wants a timeout with 1 second on the play clock, but doesn't actually call it at the time, just expects the guy to do it when the clock gets there. The guy doesn't, and they get a delay-of-game penalty. Then on 3rd and 7 from the 4, Miami's QB throws a pick-6.

Miami gets the ensuing kickoff with just over a minute and 2 timeouts left, marches down the field, throws to the end zone on 3rd down from around the 20 and gets a pass interference call, but after discussion the refs pick up the flag. Miami fails on 4th down, that's your ballgame, UC wins by 4.

I've seen a lot of crazy, crappy ways to lose games as a Wave fan, but that was painful. And I don't even care about Miami.
