If you're bored, some SDSU dude started a thread on how Tulane destroyed the Big East.

More like Rick Dickson, not Tulane.

The AAC is fine. We're arguably as good in basketball this coming year as the current Big East schools who left (not including those they added after splitting) and the conference is a much more manageable size. Discounting those added teams, the Big East and AAC both have the same number of ranked teams in the preseason poll (2 ranked, 1 receiving votes). The Big East was not the powerhouse when it split that it had been a decade previous when virtually all the teams were ranked (thanks to ESPN marketing).

But conferences are about football and those teams that bolted didn't play it, so who cares. Plus we're better off in many of the non-revenue sports.

Noted. How about little did we know how powerful Combover Wave with assists from Gumby and Pecker were?
