USF has lost 3 in a row now. It doesn’t take much imagination to see Temple making it 4.

And then they play UCF the week after....

When we beat USF their actual fans who follow closely already knew they were done. Not so much the guy who said the team quit, but many were recognizing that they weren't that good from the start and their gaudy record was a house of cards. And looking at their schedule forward from there, they saw what was coming.

Wow! AAC has two meaningful primetime games on national TV this week. Tulane-UH on ESPN on Thursday and UC-UCF on ABC on Saturday night. (I'm guessing UCF draws a massive crowd for that game.)

Great pub for the league. AAC may not be P6 today but it sure is separating itself from other G4 which by time next FBS contract is negotiated in a few years may make P6 a reality.

No it won't

Perception matters more than reality in a postmodern football age

Then if Tulane can't win the AAC this year (my primary goal as a homer), I hope UCF wins out and beats another Top 10 SEC team in the G5 Access Bowl and then hires a great trial litigation firm on contingency. Two straight years of undefeated ball and then being shut out of FBS playoffs make for a very compelling fact pattern. That trial date will occur after lots of discovery and about the time the next FBS contract is negotiated. We'll see who settles what then when ESPN, et al tell P5, they are not interersted in buying a jet plane for UCF's contingent fee lawyers because of a "ruanawy" judge or jury.

Bay, that's a nice narrative but the reality is UCF will be offered a P5 expansion slot before any lawsuit moved forward and they'd get paid to shut up.

Kinda like how ESPN paid the Big 12 to not expand because at the time, none of the candidates seemed worth the cost.

Your scenario is certainly just as likely as mine which is why I wish/hope/pray, all the G5 would sue. However I recognize that is not MLTN today. However I think you get some of the asbestos/cigarette litigation firms to offer to sue, carry all costs, etc for say just 40% of award maybe just maybe these folks would get off the dime.

Again as to collegiality, it did not hurt OU's or UGA's standing with its peers to sue NCAA and win over TV contract rules a few decades ago.

By whom? Not the ACC or SEC well because UCF is in FL, or PAC 12 for logistics, or BiG 10 because not AAU or Big 12 because not WVU and UCF has the potential to be Rutgers

The Big 12 would consider them. They are already stuck out of their traditional market with EVU and UCF gives them a window into Florida. WVU especially lives off of Florida recruits, and I'm sure the other schools wouldn't mind that access. I think in the last realignment discussion UCF was mentioned as an option along with USF, Cinci, Houston, and others out west.

Big 12 is my weakest argument but WVU is a hike and UCF is still an unestablished program. They do this for 6 years in a row then sure otherwise Shiano's Rutgers nosedive is possible

I agree...the party line was Aresco went for exposure over slightly more money last go-round, and I think it really paid off. Hopefully ratings are good and ESPN is willing to loosen the purse strings next time.

Aresco usually makes good decisions in situations like that.

Top storylines for week 12
Bearcats and Knights in primetime
The ESPN “College GameDay” crew is going to be in Orlando this Saturday to hype up the Cincinnati-UCF game, which should be a good one. The game will be nationally broadcasted on ABC, starting at 8 p.m. ET. So, clearly it’s being touted as one of the biggest games this week.
Cincinnati has a chance to not only put a halt to UCF’s 22-game winning streak, but also to stake a claim for the AAC East crown heading into the final weekend of the regular season. The Bearcats have only lost once this year — an overtime stunner against Temple — and feature one of the nation’s best defenses.
McKenzie Milton was razor sharp last weekend against Navy, but he’s had some rough outings this year as he struggles with accuracy. If he’s not on top of his game Saturday night in Orlando, the streak could certainly come to an end.

Half a bee, philosophically
Must, ipso facto, half not be
But half the bee has got to be
A vis-a-vis its entity, you see?

But can a bee be said to be
Or not to be an entire bee
When half the bee is not a bee
Due to some ancient injury?
