Ouch. AOSig could weigh in but this sure looks like a career ender. Hope the kid’s surgery and rehab go well and he regains full use, never mind football.

On the UCF parents' page a family member spoke about the initial surgery, which evacuated a fair amount of bleeding (I would guess he had a ruptured popliteal artery, and based on how fast they took him to surgery they were concerned about a compartment syndrome, where the blood would press on vessels and nerves, thus jeopardizing the survival of the leg). He (I am not sure, might be a stepfather) might have said that the nerve was injured, but intact; might recover completely, hard to tell this early. He also said that Milton will need further reconstruction surgery in his knee. Early reports on the UCF pages was that both the ACL and MCL were torn; nothing official has been released, and the family has asked for privacy and prayers. They did comment that Ohana includes all of UCF to him and his family.

Personally, he has a very long road ahead of him; vascular injury, nerve injury, and possible multiple ligament injury could each have been tough to recover from; combine all of them, and he has a rather formidable task to recover. Surgery, rehab, recovery all will be tough. Long hours of physical therapy just to get back to a normal life, much less try to prepare for any sort of athletic career. If all the injuries listed are accurate, the odds are against him; can't count him out, but it will certainly be tough.
