Tulsa loses to Mississippi St in yet another conference loss. Pretty bad for the P6 narrative we like to tell since Miss. St. Was 3-7 on the year. The second place team in the AAC should be able to handle a bottom feeder SEC squad. Again the conference really needs to find a way to show better in the postseason. Definitely need a Cinci win now
Apologies, TUPF started a separate thread about this game (in this subforum) and I commented there... basically said this same thing.
I agree, if UGA stomps Cincy the AAC looks REALLY bad. We all know that lots of important players sat out for many teams and that probably hurts G5s much more than the big power schools (who just plug in another high-ranked player) but the national media and the average fan doesn't look at anything more than the scores.
I don't know what it will take but the conference has got to find a way to show better on the national stage. Cinci and Tulsa have got to beat the p5s they play and we can't keep dropping games to the MWC. Cinci had that game won and managed to mess up just enough to give it away. We will get the old pat on the back and then a "see, told you they don't belong". Just infuriating but we have nobody to blame but ourselves.
Cincy definitely blew that game. Loss of left tackle for stupid targeting late hit put 2nd stringer in that resulted in big GA plays. Lack of discipline was UC’s undoing.

There was a drive in the 4th that was at 3rd and 2 before a cinci o line jumped. 3rd and 7 took it to a passing down and rider was sacked. If that drive is extended even another 4 downs, uga doesn't get the late opportunities to score. Its not good enough to go toe to toe with these teams. We need to beat them. Every time a g5 gets the chance in a high profile game against a top team they need to win. It's an unfair burden of proof, but it's the only way I see any path to truly claiming a p6
Cincy blew the game with terrible clock management at the end. They're in obvious clock-burn situation at the end, with the ball, and they snapped it on first and second downs with 10 seconds left. That gave UGA 12 more seconds. Then the stupid 3rd down pass play probably gave UGA 30 more seconds. What is wrong with these coaches?
